Bling in the sun

Happy Sunday!

I hope it is beautiful & sunny where you are today.  We have had a gorgeous day with lots of sun! So in honor of that gorgeous sun, I am posting a card for Sassy Cheryl's Challenge #172 "Bling in the Sun."
It has been awhile since I have entered any challenges & since Sassy Cheryl's digi stamps are among my all time favorites, I thought I should enter hers.

I decided my "bling" would be the glitter added to her inner tube & pail.  It didn't photograph as well as I had hoped, but I think you can still see it.  The sun & pail were clip art & I used a Spellbinder die to mat her.

Enjoy your week!  It sounds like we will see a lot more of this beautiful sun this week!

Catch you later!

Just a note..

Hi, again!

Well, another week is almost over & we actually saw sunshine today!  Well, actually it rained this morning, but that has passed & the skies are actually blue!   Half a day of sunshine is better than none!

Tonite I have a really simple card to share using a couple of new dies I fell in love with. (I do that a lot, I know)  This beautiful flower was created with Memory Box Dogwood Blossom & Dogwood Blossom Outline dies.

I used a Spellbinder die for the background & pulled a button from my stash.  Simple!

Have a terrific Friday & a great weekend! Catch you later!

Happy 4th

Hi,

It's a bit early to send cards for the 4th of July, but I thought I had better at least start on a few.  At the rate I'm going, however, this could be the only one that gets done.  lol

This patriotic gal is from Sassy Cheryl's digis.  The large star is done with 2 of Nellie Snellen's 5 point stars, and the circle of stars is from Memory Box.  I added a ribbon & star border from Marianne Design & the paper is from my stash.

Have a great week!  I have some new dies I'm playing with so I'll be back with something in the flower family next time.

Catch you later!

Feeling a little "droopy" today?

Hi, everyone!

I thought I would share a cute digi from Sassy Cheryl.  I kind of feel a bit like her tonite. About half "droopy"... ha ha  It was a long day at work & then I ended up waiting for Dad afterwards & it was after 7 before I got home. Last nite it was after 9....  I REALLY need a weekend!

I used some of my favorite dies from Spellbinders & Heartfelt Creations to frame her. The paper was from Recollections.

I'm glad to see that even though she seems to be "drooping" a bit, she is still smiling!  Me too!

Catch you later!

Plain Jane

Hi, everyone!

Tonite I am posting a real "plain Jane" card.  It is probably the plainest card I've done in ages.  It was more of an experiment than anything. I picked up this cute typewriter stamp set from Hot off the Press for $1.29 and hadn't done anything with it yet.  Then, as luck would have it, I happened to be strolling down the aisle at Hobby Lobby one day & noticed an embossing folder of typed words.  Just had to get it!  I embossed it using black cardstock with a blue core & sanded off the lettering to make it show up.

I thought this might be suitable to use as a "guy" thank you card.  One of these days I'll do a gal version!

I hope you are all enjoying this Father's Day weekend.  My sister is here this weekend & we are having a big dinner tomorrow.  It will be fun to pamper Dad for the day.  I wish she didn't live so far away!

I'll catch you all later!

Relax!

Hi, everyone!

I was going to post a different card tonite, but decided a relaxation themed card might be just what I needed.   It was a LONG day....

This little gal is from Prairie Fairy.  I almost didn't post her because of the "goof" I managed to do when I created her.  Since it sticks out to me like a sore thumb (or a pounding headache, which I had when I assembled her) I'm sure you will notice that the plaids don't line up between the top and the bottom of the card.  Had I glued the paper down correctly, they would have, but somehow I managed to turn the paper when I glued it.  I guess we all have days like those don't we?

The beautiful lace piece is from Heartfelt Creations.  Admit it, you would have thought I was sick if there wasn't some lacey piece of paper somewhere on the card wouldn't you?  lol   I used mini pearls for the bubbles in her bath. The sentiment was actually from a Stampin Up set with a guy theme!

I promise my next card will have nothing lacey and not a single die cut!  I actually did make a card like that the other day!  It's horrible!  ha ha

Have a great day tomorrow! Catch you later.

More of the same...

Hi, everyone!

I hope you have been enjoying a wonderful weekend, even with the rain & gloomy skies.  It certainly doesn't seem like summer does it?  I never thought I would wish for hot weather, but this damp & cold is getting old.

I have another lacey card to share this afternoon.  I can't seem to get off the lace addiction at the moment. Every time I look at my dies, I think of another card, so bare with me.  I'm sure I will find another die soon that will capture all my attention & I'll be doing everything with that one instead.   In the meantime....

This was an easy card, although it did take some time cutting out all the parts.  I used the Spellbinders border dies for the bottom edge, the flowers are from Magnolia dies and the pretty leaves & squiggles are from Memory box. I used an EK punch for the butterfly & the buttons were from my stash.  The paper was from Recollections.   I hope you like it.  I had a lot of fun putting it together.

Have a great week!  I'll be back later with something totally different.  Catch you then!

Little Red Roadster!

Hi,

I hope your week is going well.  I was going to post another feminine card tonight, but I decided to save it & post a guy card instead.  I made this card for Father's Day.  Dad loves old cars and has always loved red cars so this seemed the perfect choice.

This Digi Doodle 1930 roadster would be a car dad would love!  Hopefully, he loves his card as well.

I colored it with Prismacolor brush markers and added corners from a Joy Craft die. The paper was from my stash & the sentiment from Inky Antics.

It has been a long, long time since I entered a challenge so I am entering this in Simon Says Stamp's  Masculine/Father's Day challenge.

Enjoy the rest of the week! Catch you later.

Hope you like lace!

Hi,
I sure hope you all like lace & frilly, girly cards, because I may have gotten carried away (just a tad) on today's thank you card!  I started out to use a new die from Marianne Designs and somehow I had to add a "few" cute dies from Joy Craft and when it was all over, it looked like there had been an explosion in a Victoria's Secret store.  These dies are just so much fun!  So forgive me for getting carried away.

This is the front of my card.  I couldn't get it to lay down so that you could see it properly, but you get the idea.

The inside.  So.....I think I'm going to have to send this one to someone who is as big a nut about lacey things as I am.  (If there is anyone that fits that description out there!) lol

Have a great week!  Catch you later.
