Hi, all!
It's "hump day" again, and you know what that means! Time for another Dies R Us inspiration card.
Today's card is nothing fancy. I wanted a simple card I could send a short note on & this filled the bill.
I used a Spellbinder A-2 Fancy Ribbon Threader die for the main panel and added a flower from Magnolia Doily Flowers and a flourish from Memory Box Macarena Corner Flourish. The sentiment is an old one from Stampin Up. Insert some ribbon & done!
I'll be back soon with something new! Until then, you may want to check out all the new dies they have gotten in at Dies R Us! Fantastic prices and free shipping on orders over $35 (domestically).

Cards for a Young Boy
Hi, all!
Friday rolled around faster than ever this week! Time again for another QKR Stampede challenge & this one is # 85-Cards for A Young Boy! How fun was this one to do! There were so many cute images I had a hard time making up my mind, but when I saw #9410 Birthday Gator, I knew I had to pick this one!
If this doesn't say "boy" I don't know what does! All boys love critters and this one is so cute! I added a little faux stitching around the edges of each square to give it a little more "boy" look. And although it didn't photo well, there are tons of stickles on the frosting and candles. You HAVE to have glitter for a birthday! I think it's an unwritten rule somewhere!! lol
I hope you will jump on over to the QKR Stampede Blog to join us with a card of your own! I'll be interested in seeing what YOU decide is your favorite image!
See you later!

Spring Celebrations
Hi, everyone!
It's that time again! The weekly Friday blog challenge at QKR Stampede! And today we have challenge # 84- Spring Celebrations! I've chosen a spring birthday as my celebration & image # 15401 Floating Away looked like the perfect choice!
I love the look on his face as he realizes he is floating up, up & AWAY!! I fussy cut him out so I could put him directly into my "sky" and, of course, you have to have clouds in your sky! They were cut with Memory Box Puffy Clouds & the fence is from a Die-namics Picket Fence die. The grass was cut with a border punch.
Why don't you head on over to QKR Stampede & join in the celebration? Who couldn't use some free digi stamps? See you there!!

Double the fun!
Happy Hump Day, everyone!
I hope your week is going great & your weather is fantastic!
If you are like me, you are probably always looking for another way to use something you already have or another idea to make your cards even better. Why not try cutting half a die and embossing the other half? Sound like something you might like to try? Here is the finished result:
The right half of this doily die was "cut", while the left half was just embossed into the paper.
Here is a closeup of the doily so you can see what I'm talking about.
For more detailed instructions on how to do this, please visit the Dies R Us Inspiration Blog & check today's post by me there.
I'll be back later with something else to share! Enjoy your day!!

Thanks!
Hi, everyone!
Are you still in shock over the view out your windows? For those of you not living in Iowa, we got snow yesterday & it is still hanging around today. While the sun is out now, the temps are still low enough that it isn't melting quite yet and the yards & roofs are still covered in a white blanket. What a crazy winter!
Today I have several cards I made with a new die. The die is from Taylored Expression and is called Shades of Thanks. You will see why as you scroll below. I loved this die the minute I saw it & knew I would get lots of good from the tree because of it's size & also the "thanks" die which is included in the set.
Don't you love this tree? I could see this die as a thank you, get well, sympathy, birthday, thinking of you or background for anything. I started out by using it for it's original purpose, a thank you card.

After the thank you card, I decided to play some more & ended up with this version which I might use as a sympathy card.
Here it is done is softer colors. Amazing how just changing your colors makes it look like a whole new card.
Enjoy your day! I hope you all have a wonderful (and snow free) week!

Basket of Bunnies
Hi, everyone!
Friday again already & time for an Easter challenge at QKR Stampede! Today's challenge # 83 is Easter. I chose this adorable bunny # 10605 Basket of Bunnies image for my card.
I love Easter & all the beautiful things that go with it! It's just such a special time of year with Mother Nature bringing new life to our planet & remembering that we celebrate Easter to celebrate the new life WE were given! I wanted her to be extra bright & cheerful to go with the bright paper behind her & the flowers I made. I cut her out with a Spellbinder A2 Polka Dot frame. The flowers were made with Cheery Lynn miniature rose & Di-Namics mini hybrid heirloom rose.
Be sure you head on over to QKR Stampede to join today's challenge! They have tons of adorable stamps for Easter! I can't wait to see what YOU come up with!
Catch you later,

Here Comes Peter Cottontail!
Hi, everyone!
Time is running out for you to get those Easter cards done! I've been working hard on mine & have a couple to share with you today. You will find this first one over on the Dies R Us blog today. Be sure to check it out!
This first card was created with a digi from Angel's Landing, cut out with a Spellbinder die and Cheery Lynn Angel corners.
My second version of this same card was colored up as a brown bunny this time & I cut him out with a Memory Box Cherise label, then added a Memory Box Tiffany Label around him. Totally different looks for the same image. It's fun trying to see how many versions you can come up with! I don't normally think of black as an Easter color, but it just seemed to fit the image.
Back later with something new! Have a great day!

Monday Mixture
Happy Monday!
I'm sure you are wondering where the weekend disappeared to, aren't you? Me too! One minute it was Saturday & Sunday just evaporated in the blink of an eye. For those of you still working, at least you know the week will go quickly too!
I am still playing with some flower dies. Some I have had for a long time & some are relatively new. I am having so much fun making these darned flowers that I find myself trying to think up ways to put them on all my cards. lol They really don't take long at all to create & the finished look is really spectacular on some of them. Yesterday I played around with Impression Obsession Spiral Medium Daisy and just fell in love with it! Daisies have always been my very favorite flower of all time! I'd pass up a dozen roses for a vase of daisies any day!! I cut another basket from my Memory Box Bountiful Basket die & filled it with flowers using the daisy die & the Impression Obsession Small Spiral Flowers die, along with the Impression Obsession Leaf Cluster die. I used the Spellbinders Majestic Labels 25 die & Ribbon Banner die to finish.
As you can see from the side shot, the flowers actually don't stick up that far & will easily compress down even further when you mail them. I love that feature! Some of the flowers you buy are SO stiff I think you could run a car over them without mashing them & they are REALLY difficult to mail. Not to mention the fact that they are so expensive! It's nothing to spend $4-5 for a little card of 3 or 4 flowers!
I have to get this one in the mail today for my cousin's birthday. I'm hoping she will like it and it will make her think of spring!
Back to the drawing board! I have a couple of ideas I want to try & we will see what I come up with for next time.
Enjoy your week!

Recipe for today
Hi, everyone!
It's Friday again & time for QKR Stampede's weekly challenge # 82. Today's challenge is 123 Recipe-1 image, 2 papers, and 3 embellishments! This was a challenge for me as I don't do a lot of embellishments, as you probably already noticed.. lol I chose #18501 Love Bear as my image for today.
Don't you love that face! He was hard to resist!! I colored him with my Prismacolor markers and cut him out with Spellbinder A2 Filigree Delight. The flowers were made with a Cheery Lynn die called Miniature Rose. The papers were from Recollections.
Now it's time for you to head on over to QKR Stampede's blog to see what you can come up with! Think of all the free digi's you can win!

Back Again!
Hi, everyone!
I know it looks like I haven't been doing anything all week, but the truth is, I've been making a lot of cards. Unfortunately, they were all for posting on my other blogs so I can't share them with you yet. I do have an Easter card & a birthday card to share today.
This Easter card is a pretty quick one to make. There isn't much coloring on the rabbit stamp from Whipper Snappers & I love his face & floppy ears. I grabbed an old Happy Easter border stamp from Hero Arts and added that to the band under him. The matting was done with Spellbinder dies & the carrots were from a packet I got at Michaels last year. The paper is Recollections.
The birthday card actually started out to be an Easter basket! But then when I looked at my calendar & realized I needed a birthday card for the 9th, I turned it into a basket of birthday flowers. The inside sentiment says "May your day bloom with wonderful surprises!" The flowers were created with Cheery Lynn's miniature rose die. The basket is from Memory Box & the bow is from Memory Box as well.
I know I'm going to have fun making this into an Easter card next! Already have the chocolate bunnies cut out & ready for the basket!
I'll be back tomorrow, of course, with QKR Stampede's Friday challenge. I have a feeling I will have a lot of time to make cards tomorrow as the weather is not sounding too springlike! We are getting light rain now which is to continue & get heavier this afternoon, turning to heavy wet snow tonite (2-4 inches unless the system moves & we get 5-6). Since we have had relatively no snow all winter, I know I shouldn't complain, but gee, Mother Nature, it's April and spring is supposed to be arriving now!!! I had to get the snow blower back out yesterday & sit it close to the garage door so I could get to it. That's not something I normally have to do once I have already put out my spring yard flags! Boooo!!! This year is going to be remembered as the year that winter was ENDLESS!!!
Enjoy your day!
