It's Friday! YEAAAA!!! Another long week gone & now I can play! I finally had a chance to work on the cute snowman my daughter sent me. This little guy is a Northwoods stamp & is colored with copics. The paper is from Paper Studio and I cut some snowflakes from some glitter foam paper I found at a dollar store next to one of my favorite stamp stores. I had no idea it was sticky on the back so I didn't even have to glue it down! What a bargain! The doily is another die from Cheery Lynn Designs.
While this was so much fun, I had better get in gear & work on some Halloween cards before I go back to making anything else.
Have a great weekend & I'll catch you all later!

Another Par-fect Day...
When I got home tonite I had a pkg. in my mailbox from my daughter. Inside was an adorable snowman stamp from Northwoods Rubber along with another one for Thanksgiving. I don't know how I got so lucky to be blessed with such a daughter! It was my intention to play with my new snowman stamp but I need an emergency birthday card for work tomorrow. Nothing in my stash quite seemed right so I pulled out a favorite Penny Black hedgehog to do this little golfer. The paper is from Memory Keepers and I colored it with a mixture of pencils & copics. I like yesterday's little chef much better, but this little guy will do for a golfer.
After a high of 88 here today, we are going to cool down a bit tomorrow to the 70's with strong winds, but for one day at least, it felt like summer was back.
Have a great day tomorrow. Catch you later! (Hopefully, with a snowman card!)

There's cake on the menu!
I hope everyone is having a great week! I thought I was going to work on a "fun" card, probably Halloween, but thankfully, I checked my spreadsheet for work birthdays & discovered I had one more card to make for September. And it's a dreaded "guy" card! Yuk! This guy used to run an upscale restaurant, so I thought a chef of some kind would be fun. Not having one handy, I checked the digital sites & came across this cheerful little guy at Digi Doodles.
I colored him with a combination of copics & pencils, added some stickles to the cupcake and presto, a guy card! The paper is from a paper pad I just had out five minutes ago & now can't find! See what happens when you put stuff back!
I have one more image to share with all of you tonite. My little buddy Brady has worked so hard all day napping that he is totally exhausted. I had to snap another shot of him while I had the camera in my hand.
Have you ever seen a cuter helper? And notice that he has "my" chair? It's the one with the nice soft cushion. He is no dummy!

It's Fall Y'all!
Well, no matter how much we want to pretend, fall is here. With all the flooding & rain this summer, everyone in this area feels like we got cheated out of a summer. Which makes the arrival of fall seem all too soon. So, I decided since it was already here, I would get in the mood & do a fall card instead of all the others I should be working on.
This image is one of the few stamps that you can find on Plum Purdy. It's also one of my favorite fall stamps & since I saw Gail's beautiful card using it a few days ago, I had to pull mine out too. We both fell in love with these stamps the minute we saw them. Check out her adorable scarecrow! It is a Plum Purdy stamp too. The paper I used was from Memory Keepers and the sprig in the crow's beak is done with some Flower Soft. I used a felt sunflower I found at Hobby Lobby to finish it.
Better get a load of laundry started. Hope you all have a wonderful week!

Wish...
My card today is titled "Wish" and I am going to use it for a birthday card. I think we all have "wishes" don't we? Mine are usually pretty simple. Good health, more family time, more cuddle time with a certain snuggly black cat, health & happiness for those I love...Simple things.
Back to the card. The pretty flower pots are from a wonderful stamp set made by Flourishes. I know it will become a favorite as the flowers can be combined in endless ways. I colored them with pencils & gamsol. I used a Martha Stewart punch to add the scalloped insets & the paper is from The Paper Studio.
I haven't entered any challenges for ages so I'm going to shut my eyes & enter a couple tonite. I'm entering this in Simon Says Stamp Challenge-Use dies or punches & also The Paper Shelter-Anything Goes.
I'm off to work on a couple of other things I colored up this afternoon. Catch you all later!

Flower Power
Hi everyone!
What kind of Saturday did you all have? Mine was spent having a rummage sale at my Dad's. Now I remember why I said "I will never have another garage sale" the last time we had one! They are miserable! My sister came down to help me and we spent yesterday & today sitting outside in the garage & freezing to death! I think the high yesterday was 53 but the wind was blowing & it felt like about 32 instead. At least it is over. YEAAAAAAA!!!
I just got some wonderful new stamps from Fourishes yesterday & was so upset that I couldn't sit right down & start exploring the possibilities. But with a garage sale there was no time then. I had to wait until tonite to have fun. After 2 days of "work" it was so relaxing to come home & take out this first stamp & begin to work on a card. Here is what I came up with for a birthday card I need next week.
I colored it with copics & added a touch of pencil for more detail. The doily punch is one of my favorites from Cheery Lynn Designs & the lace at the bottom is from a Martha punch. I stamped the flower pot on to the background paper & paper pieced the pot to blend everything together.
Well, my eyes are closing & my fingers are crossing so I had better get to bed before I fall asleep at the keyboard! It's been a LONG couple of days.
Hope you enjoy my zennias! Catch you all later!!

Remembering
Today is a day for remembering. The television has played & replayed visions of 9/11 for several days now & each time I watch, I am brought back to that day. I think we all remember where we were at the moment we first heard that a plane had hit the first tower. And how quickly the news turned into the unthinkable. I pray we never have to experience anything like it again.
Today I have to remember a birthday for someone at work. Guy cards are always hard to come up with so I pulled out an Art Impressions stamp I have that does a double sided card.

This is the inside view. I cut a "window" in the front of the card so the fat little pig could stick his head thru.
I'm hoping it will give him a chuckle when he opens his card. I colored it with copics and a few pencils. The paper is from my stash.
I hope you all have a wonderful week. Catch you all later!

A Fun Day Shopping!
Hi everyone,
After a long week, today was a fun day for a welcome change! Gail & I drove to Rock Valley to the stamp store there to do some shopping. It was the last day of their "garage" sale. I actually only found one stamp there in the sale items that found its way home with me. I did find some wonderful new dies though! Lifestyle Crafts is making die cuts much the same as Spellbinders, but instead of 4-6 dies, their packages contain 15 to 20 dies in each style for the same price. I bought the round & the scalloped round ones & their largest ones are much, much larger than the Spellbinders which means you can actually use them to cut card shapes! Yea!!
This little guy was the stamp I bought for only $2 on the clearance table. He is from Great Impressions. And I used the largest of the scalloped dies for the card shape. All in all, I'm really happy with these new toys!
Guess I better head off to bed so I can get up early in the morning.

Thank Ewe!
It's finally Friday! What a long "short" week it has been! I think you pay for the short weeks by trying to stuff 5 days work into 4. I'm really ready for a break so tomorrow I'm hitting the road for a stamp sale in Rock Valley. Yes, I know, I don't "need" stamps, but........... (I know you ALL understand!)
Today I have a little "thank ewe" card to share. I've had this little Whipper Snapper stamp for years & it has always provided a cute (and quick) thank you when I needed one. I colored it with pencils & gamsol and the DP is from a K & Co paper pack. It's not a fancy card, but I think the bright cheerful paper is all you need.

Thank you!
Today is one of those rare, perfect days that you wish could last forever. The sun is shining & the temperature is just a treat. So many days are too hot, too cold, too rainy, too snowy.....we rarely get those days that are just perfect. Which makes you appreciate them all the more. Especially when you turn on the news & see the devastation in other parts of the country. My prayers are with everyone who is in the path of all that horrible weather.
And since today is a day to be thankful for so many things, I thought a thank you card might be a good choice. This one is made with a gorgeous flower stamp from Inkadinkadoo. I used a die from Die-namics & butterfly dies from Cheery Lynn Designs. It was colored with pencils & gamsol.
I got my birthday card done earlier so now I can concentrate on fun things. My grandson called me this morning to put "dibs" on the Halloween card I posted yesterday. It makes my day to know that he not only checks out my blog, but that he likes the cards well enough to want some of them! I'm off to make some more now!
Have a wonderful week, everyone! Catch you all later!

Happy Howloween!
Yes, I know, it is a bit early to be celebrating Halloween. But then, as someone who adores the holiday, you can never start too early, right? This is the first card I have been able to make all weekend. I should be working on birthday cards for work, but since the minute I got these stamps for part of my early Grandparent's Day goodies, I have been dying to try them out. Aren't they just the cutest little guys ever?
I LOVE "goofy" faces! (Explains how I can look in the mirror first thing in the morning!) I think I love Haloween because it is so full of silly characters & you can have such fun with your cards. These guys are from Stampendous. I colored them with copics & used some Martha Stewart punches for the border & wonderful fence. I think this is the first primarily white Halloween card I have ever done. I wanted to try something different for a change.
I hope all of you are enjoying the long weekend. Today is Dad's 89th birthday & after spending half the day with Mom at the nursing home, I took him gambling as that is his favorite thing to do & he rarely gets to do it. If I go once in 5 years, it is more than enough for me. I can't take the smokey air & all I think about when I am losing my $10 is what kind of stamp I could have bought. ha ha He enjoyed himself so that was the main thing & all I lost this time was $9. I guess making him happy was certainly worth it.
