Yes, that's right. Hot chocolate pockets! My daughter wanted me to make her some pocket cards to hold hot chocolate packets. I had to use my last vacation day to take Dad to the dr. so I spent the afternoon working on them. The stamp was from Inky Antics. One of the websites had directions for making the pocket packets, but the measurements they gave were so far off I wasted half the afternoon trying to make my own.
These are a few of the pockets I came up with. It's hard to see they are "pockets" without something in them, but I think you can get the general idea.
I stamped the mugs on the matching paper for each & paper pieced them. I'm hoping my daughter will love them. And hoping too, that her hot chocolate packets will fit perfectly! All this talk of hot chocolate is making me want a big mug of it!

Little Drummer Boy
Is it only Monday? Looks like another long week ahead. lol So this little guy is just the perfect way to start it. He is another Mo Manning image. I colored him with copics & Prismacolor markers & the paper is from my stash, but I think it was The Paper Studio.
It doesn't show up well, but I added some snow under their feet & made sure I sprinkled it generously with glitter, of course. Don't we all love glitter?
Have a wonderful Tuesday! Catch you all later!

The "Purrfect" Snowman
Yup, you guessed it! Another cat card! I can't seem to stay away from them, and there are so many adorable images out there right now they are hard to pass up. This one is from Inky Antics & I colored it with pencils. The paper is from Recollections. The snowflakes are cut from Spellbinder dies.
Although we don't have any snow yet, the wind is howling & reminding me of the last time we had a blizzard. The record warm temps we had this week are gone & the cold is back again. I'm sure the snow won't be far behind. Brrrrr!! How I hate winter! Guess I will have to hole up & make cards when it's cold! In the meantime, I think it's time to put up my Xmas tree & get the house decorated. Got to be ready for Santa!!
Have a great day! Catch you all later!
Blog Candy
No card to post yet today, but I did want to remind everyone of Mina's blog candy to celebrate her 3rd anniversary. Stop by to check out her amazing cards!
Hopefully, I will be back later today or tomorrow with something else to share! Have a great Saturday!

Have a "Tweet" Christmas!
Don't you just love this little branch full of birds! I found this stamp at a sale & couldn't pass it by.It's from Stamps Happen & I got it for the bargain price of $2.00 ! It took a while to color it up, but it was a lot of fun doing it. The paper is from my scrap pile & so are the cute holly leaves. This card is more "me" than the last one I posted. I really love "critter" cards.
I hope you are all having a great week. Catch you all later!

A Little Glitter!
Hi everyone,
I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend! My daughter called the other night & wanted to meet in Omaha today to go to a craft show & hit Archievers. Since my sister is still here, I thought it would do us both good to take a little road trip. We grabbed my friend Gail & headed off this morning in drizzle & hoped for good roads since the temps were running below freezing. Luckily the farther south we got, the warmer, so we had good roads for our adventure.
I thought I was too tired when we got home to work on a card, but got a second wind once I got home. Tonite's card is an image from Bo Bunny Stamps. It was the only stamp I bought today! The camera doesn't show it well, but the background DP is glittered. I added snowflake borders from the new Martha Stewart punch my daughter bought me today & the beautiful flower in the corner was from a pkg. Gail gave me the other day & I believe it is K & Co.
I stamped the reindeer in gold & embossed him with my handy dandy "blow torch" heat gun. Hope you like the results!

Whee!!
Doesn't it look like they are all having fun? And who doesn't have fond memories of playing in the snow! This little trio is another Penny Black stamp from the set my daughter gave me. It was colored with pencils & the paper is from The Paper Studio. The snowflakes are punches and the ric rac trim from a die I love & use a lot.
I haven't had a lot of time to work on cards the past two weeks as my sister has been here, but I did manage to finish this card I had started earlier.
Hope you are all having a wonderful week! Catch you later!

The best kind of snowman!
Since we haven't had any snow yet (HOORAY!) I decided to share a little snowman today. These are the easiest kind to make. Not nearly so much fun, but your fingers don't freeze while you are putting them together! This little guy is from Penny Black. I used an embossing folder with snowflakes to add some "Xmas" to the background.
The doily is from Cheery Lynn Designs. I love their amazing dies. This was a super fast & easy card to make.
Have a great week! Catch you all later!

The Cat In The Hat
We all love a good "cat nap" don't we? And this little guy has found the perfect spot! He is an image from The Artful Stamper that my daughter surprised me with a few weeks ago. I colored him in pencils and mounted him on paper from The Paper Studio. I added some white flower soft to his hat to make him extra snuggly.
I think I'm ready for a good "cat nap" too! It has been a REALLY long week. Thank Heavens, tomorrow is Friday!

The Silly Side
I have to admit that when I think of Christmas, my thoughts don't immediately turn to zebras. However, when I saw this stamp set, I had to get it because it made me smile. And who am I to say that zebras don't celebrate? Maybe they do. The stamp is from Inky Antics & the paper from The Paper Studio.
He was colored with copics & pencils & was a fun card to put together.
I hope everyone is having a great week. We may be getting a "wintery mix" tonite & possibly some snow tomorrow. I'm hoping it is just plain old rain. Rain doesn't have to be shoveled!

I'm back
For those of you who saw my last posting, you know why I have been absent for awhile. It's time to get back to some routine again & making cards has always been my way to escape & unwind at the end of a day. Thanks to all of you who have expressed your concern.
Today's card is one I made before Mom passed & since she shared my love for Xmas, I thought it was a good one to start back with.
This little guy is a Penny Black stamp. It certainly looks like he is really enjoying the season! The evrgreen bough is a new die from Marianne Designs. I added some snow to the branch & the light post for a bit of added texture. The paper is from The Paper Studio.
I have to share a story about the addition of the snow to my card. Years ago when my daughter & I first got into heat embossing, I bought the normal "regulation" heat gun at Michaels. I had only had it about a day when it quit working & I returned it. My son-in-law, being the sweetheart that he is, decided to get both of us a "real" heat gun. After a trip to Menards he came back with our new guns. I affectionately refer to mine as "the blow torch" because it gets so hot. When I first finished the snow on this card, I looked at it & was admiring how well it had turned out when I noticed this strange red, mangled, "thing" in the corner. It took me a minute to realize this mangled thing was my melted bow. Yup, melted it to a cinder! Luckily, I was able to pry it off & add a new one. But you know what? I wouldn't trade my "blow torch" for a normal heat gun for anything in the world. Every time I use it I think of my sweet son-in-law & how hard he tried to do something nice for us & it always brings a smile to my face.
Have a great day & enjoy all your blessings. Catch you later.
