Happy 4th everyone!
I hope you are enjoying the day off & celebrating the day wherever you are. The fireworks have been going since yesterday in my neighborhood & I can hear them now down the street. Poor Brady will be so glad when this week is past. His idea of celebrating is NOT to make loud noises!
Today's card is a wedding card I finished for a wedding on Saturday. Nothing like waiting until the last minute! It's just been one of those weeks.
This is the front of my card. I used a Lili of the Valley stamp for the image & colored it in Prismacolor markers. The pink doily was courtesy of a Martha Stewart punch set. The image was cut using a Spellbinder die. A few pearls & presto, I'm done!
I finished the inside with the same paper & punches and a sentiment from My Sentiments Exactly.
The heat index is over 100 again today. The humidity is 73% which is making it just miserable. My heart goes out to everyone still without power in this horrible heat.
Better get busy & quit rambling. I need to finish a male birthday card I need for work. Before I go, however, you might want to see a photo of my "helper" in action. I was emptying my waste basket in my stamp room & doing some cleaning this morning when I heard my garbage sack making crinkle sounds. Someone who shall remain nameless to protect the guilty had crawled inside & was checking out the papers to be sure I hadn't thrown away something he liked. ha ha
Catch you all later!
Sherri, this card is gorgeous. The newlyweds will be so lucky to receive this beautiful card.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card! Love that stamp and the MS punches. One of my daughter's cats empties the trash in my work area all the time. She loves the empty tape rolls after I take them off the tape gun.
ReplyDeleteHappy 4th July my American friend!
ReplyDeletePoor Brady having to put up with all the loud noises, and isn't he sweet helping you sort your trash out?! Looking for little balls of paper to chase around the room by any chance? (Socks does this - he sometimes purposefully knocks over the waste paper basket so he can attack the rubbish inside it)
Show me a cat and I get seriously distracted... I haven't even mentioned your card yet....
Well it is lovely. I thought the bottom layer was a doily - that's some seriously stunning punching and the stamp is a beauty... another one on my wish list!
Oh and making a card today for Saturday is not leaving it until the last minute, believe me...
Wow! Beautiful, fabulous, stunning card! Love the image and your coloring thereof. What a cute little fluffy sweet helper you have in your stamp room. What a darling! Can't resist a bag on the floor. My Marvin kitty was quite the helper, too. LuLu likes to lay in the room with me while I'm stamping, always under my chair where I might roll on her. Have to be sooooo careful, but I love her company, as I know you love having your sweet kitty nearby.
ReplyDeleteYour card is fabulous. I know for a fact there were a lot of woo and ahs when they opened it. It was admired by many.
