Hi,
Can you believe it? I'm getting to post a female birthday card tonite! This is so much more fun than doing guy cards. I love the frilly, lacy, flowery things we can put on a card for a gal. Tonite's card has an embossed edge that I just fell in love with. It is from a new Cuttlebug embossing folder. I cut along the edge & used it to stamp my flowers (Stampin Up) that I then colored with my Prismacolor markers. Some Lily Bee Design gingham paper & it was complete. I hope you like it.
This is the front of my card. I also did the embossing on another sheet of white card stock for the inside.
My camera angle isn't very good on the inside, but you get the idea. I wish they would do more embossing folders like this.
Well, I was supposed to be cleaning my stamp room tonite. That was my intention when I came home. Somehow I got sidetracked!
Catch you later! Have a wonderful day!

Simple is good too!
Hi,
I was going to post another birthday card tonite (female this time) but decided to go with a thank you card instead. This one is a really clean & simple design. Not my usual style. lol I have really been into black & white cards for the simple ones lately. They always look so clean & crisp.
The stamp is from Studio 112 & I stamped it in the center of an embossed oval made with a Sizzix embossing folder. An outline with a running dash made with my Micron pen added some dimension & helped the embossing stand out. The little flower & ribbon were from my stash. I was going to take a shot of the inside, but my camera battery died. I cut another piece of white for the inside & stamped just a portion of the flower on the top & bottom edge, leaving plenty of room to write a message.
Better get busy. Catch you later!

Hugs!
Hi,
Today's post is a quick one. I wanted a card to send a friend who could really use a hug & this one came quickly to mind. What better way to send a hug, then to send a literal "hug" card! I got this template from Splitcoast quite some time ago & have used it several times. It's an easy card to make & you can decorate it as much or as little as you like. Since it has to be mailed, I wanted to keep the embellishments to a minimum & fairly flat.
I used some of the flowers from my stash and added the birds, birdhouse & greenery from a cute set of die cuts from W Plus 9 Design Studie (Folk Art Florals). The dies are all quite tiny, but perfect for small areas like this. The great thing about this card is that she can sit it on a desk or table & enjoy it.
Guess I had better get busy. I'll catch you all later. Enjoy the rest of the weekend!!

Mushrooms?
Yes, mushrooms! I need another card for a co-worker's birthday. Guy cards are hard enough under normal circumstances, but this guy doesn't golf, fish, or have any of the usual male hobbies. He does love to go mushroom hunting though. And I happened to have a Penny Black hedgehog stamp carrying a basket of mushrooms! Viola! A birthday card! I colored him with a combination of Prismacolor markers & pencils.
The paper is from Recollections & I used Lifestyle dies to mat. The sentiment is computer generated. (You don't find too many sentiments out there with birthday wishes centered around mushrooms!)
Hope you are having a great weekend. I'll be back tomorrow with something else. Catch you later.

Cake time!
Hi, again!
Here it is Wednesday already. The week is flying by. And tonite, I'm back with another birthday card. What a surprise! ha ha This is a little cake stamp I colored up not really intending to post as I didn't care much for it at the time I finished it. But it kind of grew on me! lol
The stamp is from Studio G. I colored it with Prismacolor markers and matted it with a Spellbinder die and my new "favorite" Martha Stewart punch set. The paper was from Recollections. I think it made a pretty cheerful card & I'm sure it will go to someone at work one of these days.
Enjoy the rest of the week. I'll be back tomorrow with something else to share. Catch you later!

More September birthdays!
Hi, all!
In our family, there are a lot of September birthdays. This card is for my nephew who lives in Oklahoma City. He will be coming back for Dad's surprise birthday party & their birthdays are side by side. Dad's is the 4th & his is the 5th. Always easy to remember!
It is one of Mo Manning's images that I use a lot. I colored it in Prismacolor markers & the paper is from Recollections. The sentiment is computer generated & cut out with a Spellbinder die. I hope he likes it.

Happy 90th
Happy Monday!
Don't the weekends fly by! And it's feeling more & more like fall is just around the corner with these cool mornings we have had lately.
Today's card is actually one I made for Dad's 90th birthday. He will be turning 90 on Sept. 4th, but we are having a surprise birthday party for him on the 1st. We have a classic car theme going since he loves old cars.

The car is from a Tim Holztz set that I have used again & again. The paper is from Recollections. Although it doesn't show up well in the photo, the background behind the car is glossy. I printed the sentiment on the computer & cut it out with a Spellbinder label die. (You just don't find too many "Happy 90th Birthday!" sentiments when you shop! lol
My nephew has a birthday the day after Dad's so tomorrow I'll be back with his card.

Critter Time!
Hi all,
Hope you are enjoying this beautiful Sunday. After yesterday's cool & gloomy day, the sun is a welcome site again.
Today, I have another birthday card for work. Since my daughter LOVES any card with a critter on it, I decided to use this adorable dog from Inky Antics just to show her I still love critters. And since I love to make my cards as personal as possible, I first ran the sentiment thru my printer onto a blank sheet of cardstock, then stamped the image over it to center the birthday message on the card he is carrying. Got to love those clear stamps for things like this!
Since guys, as a rule, don't like a lot of embellishments, I kept it pretty basic. The paper is from Recollections & I colored him in Prismacolor brush markers (my new favorites). I'm entering him in Simon Says Stamp Challenge - Animal Antics.
Off to work on more cards! Have a wonderful week. I'll catch you later!

Happy Friday!
Hi, everyone!
Another week gone already. Time goes so quickly doesn't it? I don't know about you, but I can't wait for Fridays to come because they mean I can spend most of the weekend "playing" and having fun making cards.
Tonite I have another birthday card for work. I used one of my favorite Mo Manning images & colored her in Prismacolor markers. The paper was from Recollections & I cut her out with a Spellbinder die. The side decorations were from an EK Success punch,

The weatherman is actually giving us a 60% chance of rain tomorrow! Yippee! We can sure use it, if it comes. So many times, lately, they forecast rain & we get nothing at all.
Catch you later. Have a great Saturday!

A Break In The Weather!
Hi,
After weeks of nearly 100 degree heat, we are enjoying some almost fall-like weather right now. It is only 76 degrees outside right now & the low tonite is going to be 42 which is a record. What a strange summer we have all had.
Tonite, I'm sharing another birthday card for work. I needed another one for next week & hopefully, this one will do the trick. The image is from Sassy Cheryl's digi's. The paper is from Recollections & i used Lifestyle dies to cut out the circles & sentiments.

One more day till the weekend! Yeaaaaa!!! It's been a wild week. Yesterday we had a bird caught in the wall at work. The maintenance guys got him out & released him back outside where Mom & Dad were dive bombing anyone who tried to get near him. Today we heard the chirping again & when they went back to investigate, they found a nest with 2 more birds in the wall again. When they brought the first rescued baby in to show us, he wiggled out & flew into the boss's office where they finally caught him & released him safely. Baby number three was rescued shortly after & taken directly outside to Mom & his siblings. Needless to say, they plugged up the hole they were getting in at!
Catch you again tomorrow with something else.

Did I say ahead of schedule?
Did I really say I was ahead of schedule yesterday? What was I thinking! I have to come up with something spectacular for Dad's 90th birthday which is coming up in a couple of weeks, a birthday card for my nephew, another guy card for work, and the list goes on. Dad's card will be the hardest, of course. I'll have to put my thinking cap on for that one!
Today's card is another I had to do for work. Actually, I had it completely done & then discovered that the guy it was going to spells his name Kory, not Cory so I had to do some "adjustments" to his card. Here is the result.

This is one of my Mo Manning images & I colored it with my Prismacolor markers. The zig zag side border was done with a Martha Stewart punch that cuts AND embosses! The other die cuts were all Spellbinders. "Kory with a K" loves golfing so I'm crossing my fingers this will be a hit.
I'll be back tomorrow with another card to share. Hope you are all having a wonderful week! We may actually get some rain tonite! I'm crossing my fingers AND my toes for that one! Catch you later.

Ahead of Schedule!
Hi,
Well, with all the things I am behind on, there is one thing I actually am ahead of schedule on. A card for our HR head who turns 50 this year. When I saw this Mo Manning image, I just immediately knew I wanted it for her card. I will stash it away until her big day, but at least I won't forget to make it a Happy 50th card & be scrambling at the last minute trying to decide what to do for it. An ordinary birthday is one thing, but a milestone birthday has to at least mention the birthday number doesn't it?

I was proud of myself for only doing one completely chocolate cake in her stack of goodies! If it was up to me it would be just one huge pile of chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. THICK chocolate frosting!
Better get busy. I have a couple of things to do tonite & am already late. As usual. Catch you all later!

A Pitcher of Flowers
Hi, again!
I thought we could continue on in the "flower" mode today. I had colored this up earlier, but only got it put together Saturday. This is from an Inky Antics set I bought earlier this summer. I confess, I haven't bought many "real" stamps this summer. Most of my purchases have been digi's just because I love the "instant gratification" of shopping in my pj's at midnite & having a new stamp in my hand minutes later.

In The Pink!
Hi,
I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend! Our weather has finally cooled down & we even had a tiny spot of rain yesterday. Barely enough to wet the ground, but at least it settled the dust & we will settle for anything we can get at this point.
Today's card is a Mo Manning named "Nelly" that I just couldn't pass up. I could see her as a thank you card, a birthday card or just about anything. Who can resist little girls in tons of petticoats! It reminds me of the days when my daughter was little (she is groaning right now if she is reading this) and I made most of her summer outfits when she was a toddler. I had the cutest pattern for a sun suit that came with matching ruffled panties. And, of course, I had to make the exact same outfit for her doll "Raggie" who went everywhere she did . Those are the memories you cherish, aren't they?
On to the card. I colored her with Prismacolor markers and cut her out with a Spellbinder Beaded Oval die. The butterfly is from Cheery Lynn. The background paper from Recollections was cut with a Spellbinder Romantic Rectangles die.
With the busy background paper, I didn't add a lot of embellishments. I'm hoping less is more in this case.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Catch you later!

Another guy card!
Hi, all!
Well, as promised, I'm back with a guy card stamped on cork. I needed another birthday card for work & this seemed like an easy & quick card. With so many birthday cards to make for work, I usually don't spend tons of time on them for the simple reason that I would get nothing else done. I've had as many as 6 in one week & you just can't spend hours on each one. Stamping on cork is an easy way to make a nifty guy card! It looks "manly" and is quite effective.
The classic car is from an old stamp that I've gotten a lot of "mileage" from if you will excuse the play on words! It's from Stampabilities. The paper is from Recollections & the cute little flourishes in the corner are from a Cheery Lynn die. You can buy the cork in thin sheets at Michaels or Hobby Lobby & it's very inexpensive. It glues well to your paper & you can get a lot of images out of a single 8.5 x 11 inch sheet.

Black & White day
Hi everyone!
Today's post is totally different from yesterdays colorful post. I love doing black & white cards. And since I had some new "sale" stamps that just screamed out to be done in black & white I decided to give them a try.
This stamp was from a set by Recollections that I picked up for $2.99 this weekend. The matting was done with a new Martha Stewart punch set that called my name. Isn't that how we do it? Save money on stamps so we can buy something else? lol The paper is from Recollections too and the ribbon was in my stash.
This was one of the other stamps in the set. I used the Martha punch set again for this background. I love the hand stitched look to it. Both of these were quick to make & I love the way they turned out. Not as much as yesterday's, but in a different way.
Hope your week started well & will continue to be a good one. Catch you later with a guy card stamped on cork!

You can never have enough ice cream!
Now this is my idea of an ice cream cone! I like her style!! Isn't she the cutest little thing? This is one of the stamps I bought Thursday from Stamping Bella. I colored her with Prismacolor markers & the paper is from Recollections. I used a Marianne Designs die for the swirl & the flowers were all from a Cuttlebug set my daughter gave me Thursday. It's called "Quilled Daisy Kit" and has 4 dies, a quilling pen & some wire. It took me a couple of tries to get the hang of it, but wow, am I glad I did. I LOVE the flowers it makes!
I rarely use purple, even though I love the color so today I decided to be bold & go for it. I'm glad I did!
I hope you are all having a great weekend. Better get busy. Catch you later!

Thinking of You
I could tell I hadn't made a card for several days when I began this one earlier today. Actually, my first version was so bad I threw it away. Ever have one of those days? Just couldn't seem to get it together. So, this is my second try using this new stamp from Stamping Bella. I colored her in Prismacolor markers. The paper is from Recollections. The sentiment is one of Michael's dollar stamps from years past. I cut the foliage from Cheery Lynn Designs. The sentiment is cut from a Spellbinder die. I made the flower (after about 3 attempts) from a new Cuttlebug kit that gives you flower & leaf dies as well as a quilling tool to roll it with. It looks somewhat better in real life. Let's go with that, shall we? ha ha
We may actually get some rain tonite. Got my fingers crossed!! Have a great Saturday. I'll catch you later!

Another hot day!
The heat continues. It is supposed to be 101 degrees or more here today & it is already up to 97. I thought that was hot until I heard the weather channel say Oklahoma City was expecting 112. I hope my nephew's air conditioner is working!
Today I have a quick thank you card. This one was done with pencils & gamsol from a beautiful image by Alexandra Be sure to visit her blog to check out her amazing sketches & beautiful cards.
The ribbon & buttons were from my stash. The paper was from a pad by Me & My Big Ideas. I cut it out with a Lifestyle Nesting Doily Oval. I wanted to do a quick card to give the light box a better test than yesterday's gray sympathy card. I think Josh nailed it when he came up with this version of a box don't you? Everything is MUCH brighter now. He spent all afternoon yesterday trying different placement of the lights until he came upon this one. I'm going to miss him when he goes home!
Better get going. I think we are going to watch a movie! Catch you later!
