Hi,
I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend! Our weather has finally cooled down & we even had a tiny spot of rain yesterday. Barely enough to wet the ground, but at least it settled the dust & we will settle for anything we can get at this point.
Today's card is a Mo Manning named "Nelly" that I just couldn't pass up. I could see her as a thank you card, a birthday card or just about anything. Who can resist little girls in tons of petticoats! It reminds me of the days when my daughter was little (she is groaning right now if she is reading this) and I made most of her summer outfits when she was a toddler. I had the cutest pattern for a sun suit that came with matching ruffled panties. And, of course, I had to make the exact same outfit for her doll "Raggie" who went everywhere she did . Those are the memories you cherish, aren't they?
On to the card. I colored her with Prismacolor markers and cut her out with a Spellbinder Beaded Oval die. The butterfly is from Cheery Lynn. The background paper from Recollections was cut with a Spellbinder Romantic Rectangles die.
With the busy background paper, I didn't add a lot of embellishments. I'm hoping less is more in this case.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Catch you later!
Very cute card Sherri, and such nice coloring. And your memories to go with it are just so fitting. That is the wonderful stuff I remember about my daughter too.
ReplyDeleteSo sweet, Sherri. Coloring is outstanding and I love the dies.
ReplyDeleteI used to love to make my girl's clothing. I used to dress them alike all the time. Love this card, so pretty. I'm taking a break from cardmaking for a little while. I'll try to keep stopping by, though.
ReplyDeleteso sweet Sherri! I always loved dressing up our girls too and sewing for them. You've captured her charm here!
