Hello, again!
As promised, I'm back with a fast birthday card this morning! I couldn't pass up the new Tutti Bird Branch Chorus die. I'm not sure who else is singing with him since he is the only bird in view, but apparently he has a full crew of backup singers! ha ha I added some flower punches to my corners from one of my old punches for some added interest.
This makes a really quick card! A good die to have on hand for those "oops!" moments when you realize you need a birthday card & forgot to make one!
I hate the fact that the sun is setting earlier these days & the air has that "fall" feel to it! I am NOT a fan of winter! HATE everything about it! And I'm praying the Farmer's Almanac is wrong in their forecast!! They are saying below average temperatures & above average snow ....all beginning earlier than normal! Hopefully, those fuzzy little worms they study were all going thru menopause and having hot flashes & that threw off their predictions! Lol!
Back to my de-cluttering!

Pumpkins
Happy Monday!
Are you ready to start the week off full of vim & vigor, or are you wishing you could roll back over & go back to bed? If it is the latter, I hope you are retired & can do just that! ha ha
I always like to try new things & when a friend told me about the Cutting Cafe and all the cute cards you could get, I had to check it out. I don't have a machine that cuts things out like many of you do, but she assured me I could still cut them out by hand. Well, maybe it depends on what you choose for a pattern, but I obviously chose something too detailed. After struggling to cut out the base of a card that was supposed to have a trio of darling pumpkins on it, I finally gave up & just grabbed the pumpkins & made a couple of cards with them. All in all, they turned out pretty cute once I added a maple leaf corner die to the mix!
I left the inside of the first card blank to use as a note card.
The second card I made into a Thanksgiving card. I think the "faux" stitching around everything helped them a lot.
I'll be back tomorrow with a birthday card & then I plan to spend a few days trying to de-clutter my craft area. I have gotten to that point where I just have no choice but to weed some things out! How do we collect so much STUFF! I could craft for years & not buy another thing except adhesive.
Enjoy your week!

The beat goes on....
Hello, friends!
Well, the Halloween beat goes on yet! I had limited time to work on cards today as I had errands to run this morning & a haircut this afternoon. I did manage to get 2 very simple cards done. Both were made with old Stampin Up stamps.
Hope you are all enjoying a great week! I'll be back tomorrow with our usual QKR Stampede weekly challenge! Stay tuned for your chance to win some free digi stamps!

Halloween continues....
Happy Hump Day!
Another week half over! Time just goes so quickly any more!
I only have 2 cards to share today. I know, I'm slacking off! But in my defense, I had an appointment this morning & had lunch with a friend. And just after I got home, we had a horrible thunder storm come through which dropped over 2.5 inches of rain! Lots of lightening & thunder! I stayed downstairs to comfort poor Brady who usually hides under the bed.
Here are the two Halloween cards I did manage to make after everything quieted down.
This little cutie was made with a clearance stamp I got at a sale years ago & there is no name on it.
I'll see how much progress I can make tomorrow!
Enjoy your day!

This little Dracula cat is a Penny Black stamp. I added black Stickles to his cape & sprinkled glitter over that. Now I just have to remember not to touch it until it dries! Lol

Halloween Cuties
Hello, again!
I hope your weekend was as enjoyable as mine! I got to spend some much needed time with my daughter & her family. It is always time that goes way too quickly!
I spent today working on Halloween cards (and finishing one last Christmas card). It just dawned on me that Halloween is not that far away & my stash of cards was down to 18. I managed to get 5 done today & am happy with all of them. Pulled out some of my favorite stamps & dies & spent the day coloring & cutting. My favorite kind of day! Here is what I came up with. All of the stamps were from Penny Black, except the 2 cats in hats & scarves. Those were an old stamp from Plum Purdy.
I'll be working on Halloween for a few days until I can get my stash built up again so be prepared for more!
Enjoy your week!

Christmas Kitties!
Hello, everyone!
While I was cleaning yesterday, I came across a set of stamps that my daughter had given me a couple months ago. The set is all cats in Christmas settings & I had put it away when I got home & promptly forgotten it because I wasn't making Christmas cards yet. Imagine my excitement when I came across it! It was like getting the gift all over again! ha ha I should have left it out on my desk!
I only had time to work on one of the images today but did end up with 2 cards.
For the second card, I used Joy Craft Square 6002/0147, one of my favorite dies. (Stop laughing, Gail!) ALL of them aren't my favorites, just most of them! They are like children...I love them all! ha ha
Enjoy the rest of your day!

I used the same paper for both, although my editing seems to have changed the color on the top card to a darker shade. For the first card I used Spellbinders Reflective Moment to cut it out.

Flower Power!
Hi, friends!
I hope you are enjoying your weekend as much as I am enjoying mine! I'm getting some much needed family time and life doesn't get better than that!
Since I got that new Tattered Lace die the other day, I have been having such fun with it! I grabbed it this afternoon to do a quick "Hello" card and a birthday card. I love flowers & don't do enough of them. I decided to pull out an old Stampin Up set for the Hello card & an Inky Antics set for the birthday card. I popped up both centers with pop dots to add extra dimension.
Both cards had a heavy coat of Wink of Stella, of course! You have to have sparkle!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

A New Die!
Happy Hump Day!
Your week is half over! It won't be long before you are enjoying your weekend, will it? I've been missing again, but not because I wasn't busy creating! I've been working ahead on some of my Blog posts for QKR. I've also found some of the most darling images there and have been making some additional cards with them. Be sure you check out the post on September 2nd to see the moose in the leg warmers! One of my favorite images ever!
Back to business...I have had my name on several "backorder" lists for a Tattered Lace Lacy Layers Squares die. I fell madly in love with it the minute I saw it, but of course, it was out of stock at every site that carried it! It finally came in on one of the England sites so I ordered it there! It is every bit as gorgeous as I imagined! Here are the first 2 cards I made with it.
There are 3 lace squares with this die, but I used just the 2 largest on the birthday card.
For this cute moose from QKR Stampede, I used just the largest one (which measures just a hair over 5 1/2 inches) & I also grabbed my holly corner from Cheery Lynn.
Back to work! I need to work on some Halloween cards! I did take a couple days off to try to organize my paper collection too. Oh, my! I am NEVER buying any more paper even if it is on sale! The joke with my friends when we go to Hobby Lobby or Michaels is that if you can't find me, head for the paper aisle. It calls me like a siren song! But, obviously, I have been drawn to that aisle WAY too many times! ha ha
Back later!

Dies R Us Challenge - Doilies and/or Lace
Hello again!
Are you ready for a fun challenge over at Dies R Us? The theme for this one is "Doilies and/or Lace" and I'm sure you all have your favorite lacy dies you can pull out & create something awesome with! I had so many it was hard to decide which ones to pull out. Especially when I love ALL of them! Here is what I finally came up with.
I used the following dies on this little hello card: Paper Smooches Hello Words, Penny Black Border Edgers, Taylored Expressions Eventful-Tea Party and Cheery Lynn Cape Code Doily. Although the first 2 dies are currently out of stock, be sure to add your name to the waiting list.
After cutting the doily in half for the "table" cover, I cut the remaining half in half and used those for my corner pieces.
Head on over to the Dies R Us Challenge Blog & put your entry in! You could win a gift voucher to the amazing Dies R Us store. They carry the most different die companies in one place that you will ever find anywhere! It will take you hours to browse through all their inventory & they add new things daily! Be sure to sign up for their news letter so you hear about all the sales too!
Enjoy your week!

Happy Thanksgiving!
Hello,
I've been gone for a couple of days, but not because I wasn't busy working on things. Actually, my mojo has been seriously missing for a couple of days. I've been working on something for the Dies R Us Challenge Blog and every wonderful idea I had came to a dead end. Either the dies I pulled out to use were no longer in stock or had been discontinued. Darn! I have been collecting dies for SO long that I have a lot of them that are no longer available. So it was on to Plan B....then to Plan C...then to Plan D! I finally came up with something yesterday, so hopefully, that will free up my time to work on other things. Yea!!
I did manage to make a couple of cards and they are for Thanksgiving. I know I posted 3 raccoon cards earlier, but the image is just so darned cute I had to try it with watercolor pencils. I promise this is the last one! ha ha
This little gal is a Sassy Cheryl image I've had awhile. Perfect for a Thanksgiving or fall card..The corner dies are from Magnolia Doohickey Cute Corner.

If at first you don't succeed......
Hello, everyone!
I guess we have all heard the saying "If at first, you don't succeed....try, try again!" Well, that is exactly what I did yesterday! I had visited one of my favorite digi sites, "A Day for Daisies" and found this darling little raccoon. I printed him out several times & sat down to color him. My first attempt was using my Prismacolor pencils & Gamsol. Although it was passable, it wasn't exactly what I was hoping for so I grabbed another one & did it with my alcohol markers. A little better, but still not great. So, I decided to pull out some of my Twinkling H2o's and do one in watercolor. Truthfully, I wasn't all that happy with it either, but at that point I had 3 images made up & ready to be made into cards so I printed out a sentiment for each and forged ahead. I made some cute "sunflowers" with Die-namics Upsey-Daisies & grabbed some of my precious stack of gingham.
This was my first attempt with the pencils...
This was attempt #2 with markers...
This was the last attempt with the Twinkling H2o's.......
Have you ever had a day where you just couldn't get that look you were after? It's so frustrating!
But, at least I got 3 cards done!
Hope you are having a fantastic weekend! I'm meeting friends for lunch & we are stamping after! Yea!!!!!! Food, fun & friends....what more could you ask for!
Catch you later!

QKR Stampede Challenge # 203 - Things With Wings
Happy Friday!
All ready for a fun & relaxing weekend? Well, me too! And what is a weekend without getting together with friends? For many years, my fellow card & die addicts have been getting together & doing lunch before we stamp at each other's houses. There is nothing more fun than getting together with people who not only understand your addictions, but share them! ha ha (And we also share an addiction to chocolate!) Do I have perfect friends or what!
Today's QKR Stampede challenge theme is "Things With Wings" and if you don't have anything that will work for that theme, there are dozens of adorable things at the QKR Stampede store. Grab something & join in on the fun for a chance to win free digi stamps!
My choice for today is Digi# 7902 - Ice Skating.
I grabbed some of my favorite (and new) dies to help this little guy out. I used Memory Box Warm Wishes Border, Cherry Lynn Winter Neighborhood Border, and Cheery Lynn Snowflakes (C146) to create this cute scene.
See what YOU can come up with!

The Cat in the Hat!
Hello, again!
I've missed a couple of days, haven't I? I was still busy creating cards, but they were for QKR's design team so they won't post for a few days yet. I have some more cute images for the September challenges that I can't wait to start on so I may miss a day or two later. I guess I am pretty anal about wanting to be "ahead" of schedule. I'm also the person who always shows up early for an appointment. ha ha Can't help it, it's just the way I am!
I pulled one of my favorite Halloween stamps from my Halloween stash. This stamp is from Plum Purdy. She doesn't do many stamps, and in fact, I don't think I saw them even listed on her website when I was there last week. She mainly does patterns for tole painters, which is how I first fell in love with her work. For many years, I was addicted to tole painting....and then to oil painting (landscapes). I would still like to go back to it some day, but am having so much fun with my cards. I have a couple of her stamps for Halloween and a couple for Christmas that I will never part with. I never get tired of them & pull them out year after year. Am I the only one who does that? It's like that favorite blouse in your closet that has seen it's better days but you still wear it because it's your favorite & you can't bear the thought of throwing it away or giving it to the Goodwill.
I colored up 3 of this image just because I love it so & it colors up quickly. Isn't it funny what a totally different look you get by changing colors and dies!
I seemed to be on a Memory Box roll....this cute die is Memory Box Happy Halloween Channel. It cuts out a cute little pumpkin for the "O" in Halloween!
And finally, an old, old die & one of the first I bought years ago. Memory Box Creepy Web Frame.
Everyone got a coat of Wink of Stella, of course! You have to have some glitter & shine!
Now I need to go search for the other fall stamp from Plum Purdy! It's perfect for Thanksgiving!
Have a fantastic week!
