A quick thank you!

Hi, again!

I almost didn't share this card today because I couldn't give you the actual name of the die I used.  My friend Gail had just gotten a set of new dies (which I believe were Spellbinder) when she came over one day.  She generously let me cut several of them out since I didn't have them.......(yes, there actually are some I don't have, believe it or not!) ha ha

Anyway, I grabbed one of them & made this beautiful thank you card with it!

How great is this!  I'm sure at some point, this set will have to find it's way to my collection!  lol

I have another card in mind for next time that will involve coloring!  I just can't go too many days without pulling out my markers or my pencils!  Ahh......addictions!

Pretty in Pink!

Happy Monday!

I hope your week is off to a fantastic start!  I don't know about you, but I feel better just seeing all the extra sunlight each day! What a difference it makes in your overall happiness!

As promised yesterday, I have a birthday card to share today.  It takes very little effort and only 2 dies. Marianne Designs Anja's Oval Die and Poppy Stamps Suzanna Blossom.  I added an embossed background but it is just as beautiful on a plain one.

For those of you who like cards with colored images, don't worry!  I am still doing a lot of coloring too & will share those as well.  It has just been kind of fun seeing what card I could come up with using nothing but dies.  And they add up quickly when you are trying to build your stash up again.

I'll be back again tomorrow with a REALLY quick card!  Stay tuned!

A Cottage Thank You

Hello, again!

Today's post will be a quick one.  A couple of new dies I got were just begging me to make a card and I thought they would be a perfect thank you note!  Poppy Stamps Kaysen Oval and Poppy Stamps Boddington Cottage were the 2 dies I used.  As you can see, it creates a beautiful card in a small amount of time.

You could easily change the colors on this card.  I could easily see it as a black & white card as well.

Catch you again tomorrow with another birthday card!

Lavender Wishes!

Happy Saturday!

I've been busy lately so thought I would just continue to post.  I had a Sue Wilson die that I fell in love with & that's what started this card today.  The Sue Wilson Gemini Collection -Ara die is gorgeous beyond words! What I really love about it too is that the set contains 3 separate dies so you can cut out the gorgeous border on the edge of your card or cut it out as a separate piece.  For this card, I actually did both.  I cut it out of the border AND cut a separate piece to give it more depth. The frame is Die Namics Stitched Square Frames.

I'll be back tomorrow with a really simple & quick thank you card.

Enjoy your weekend!

English Roses

Happy Thursday!

One more day to go before the weekend!  Hurray!!

I ordered a couple of new dies last week and am having fun with them.  I ordered Memory Box English rose Collage & Poppy Stamps Daphne Butterfly.  Here are 2 of the thank you cards I came up with.

For the first card I just mounted it on pale pink cardstock & used my micro pen to add some faux stitching.

For this card, I grabbed some ink pads & just made some random color behind the cutout.  This is a beautiful die & makes a fast card!

Back tomorrow with QKR Stampede's weekly challenge!

A Country Birthday Wish!

Hi, again!

Well, as promised yesterday, I have something a bit different to share today.  I have to say this is the very first rooster I have ever done!  Yup, today's birthday card is a REALLY colorful rooster!  I debated on different paper choices for him & almost went with a gold gingham, but then I found this paper in my stash & just closed my eyes & went with it!  I guess at that point, I figured a bright image needed equally gaudy paper and this really had a country feel to it which was even better! ha ha

It's a shame my photography skills aren't better.  The shading on the rooster just doesn't show up on this and neither does the Wink of Stella that I used over him.   This rooster is from A Day For Daisies and the sprig under my button is Poppy Stamps Sylvan Sprig.

I'll be back tomorrow with a couple of cards I made with some new dies.  See you then!

A Birthday Celebration!

Hello, everyone!

I thought I would post the birthday card I made for a special friend in England last week!  I mailed it in plenty of time as I wasn't sure how long it would take to get to England.  I also wanted to be sure I had the correct postage on it.  Unfortunately, I didn't drive downtown to our only post office when I mailed it.  A couple of years ago, the postal authorities decided that closing all of our post office branches except the main post office downtown would save them money.  They also closed our huge sorting center and decided that driving the mail 90 miles NORTH of us to Sioux Falls would be a fantastic money saving idea too!  Unfortunately, for anyone wanting to mail anything, it wasn't! The interstate going north is usually closed at least once a winter because the road is too bad.  Which means we get no mail on those days.  We now have postal "sub-stations" located in several grocery stores where we are supposed to be able to mail our letters with store employees who have all been "trained!"  Right!  My beautiful birthday card came back to me Saturday while I was out of town & was waiting in the mailbox when I returned Sunday.  They had slapped a huge sticker across the address stating there was $2.00 postage due!  So much for getting it there on time! Grrrr!!!

Enough complaining!  ha ha  I've crossed my fingers & am hoping she gets it before her NEXT birthday!
Here is the card I made for her.

I used the beautiful Marianne Designs Anja's Oval Die for the central die and finished off the corners with one of the 3 dies in the Cheery Lynn Lace Corner Deco B set.

I'll be back tomorrow with something out of the ordinary for me!  Stay tuned!!

Eureka #189 Buttons & Bows

Hello friends!

I have a surprise card to share today.  I am a guest designer for Eureka Stamps today & the theme is Buttons & Bows.  I fell in love with this cute puppy....digi# 33103 Patriotic Puppy and knew just what I wanted to do with him.  It may be a bit early to work on Fourth of July cards, but I couldn't pass him up!

He is such a sweetie and I can't wait to print him on patterned paper and paper piece his scarf so I can use him for other cards!

Have a fantastic week!

Hello again!

Surprise!  I actually have two posts today, so be sure you scroll down to the next one as well.  But first, it's time for the Dies R Us challenge that starts today!  And what a fun one it will be, too!  The theme for today's challenge is to use "Black & White" which gives you unlimited ways to create your card.  Here is what I used for mine.  Sue Wilson Canadian Collection Background and Cheery Lynn Exotic Butterfly Small #2 (which is currently out of stock).

I had so much fun with this one that I also did one in pink & black to put into my stash.

Head on over to the Dies R Us Challenge Blog for your chance to play along & if you are the winner, you will walk away with a gift voucher to the amazing store!  Put your thinking cap on & see what you come up with!

Have a wonderful weekend & find some time to craft!  It does wonders for your attitude!
