Hot Enough To Melt A Snowman!

Yup! It is hot enough here today to melt a snowman.  A BIG one! The temperature on my car said 99 degrees when I got off work, although the heat from the concrete had made it a bit hotter than it actually was. It is the high humidity, though, that is really playing havoc with everyone's comfort level!

I actually colored up 2 snowmen the other day so I am sharing the second one tonite.  This is one of my favorite images from Sassy Cheryl's.  I cut him out with a Spellbinder die & added some pine branches from Impression Obsession.  A little fake snow & some glitter & he was done.

I should be making Halloween cards!  I'll have to see what I can do about that! Stay cool!

Brrrrrr!!!

Hi, all!
Today we are going to pretend it is cold outside.  Just for a few minutes anyway!  We are having a week long heat spell here which is bad enough, but the humidity is running 77%. I think you get the picture! So, to help me feel cooler, I pulled this cute little digi from some of my old Hugware & colored him up.  I wasn't thinking ahead when I chose my colors & all my Xmas papers just looked wrong for him.  So, to buck tradition, I went with this bright polka dot.

I used one of my Joy Craft dies for the background & added some of the tiny little snowflakes I just got from Impression Obsession.  They are the perfect size for cards!

I'm feeling cooler already, aren't you?

To Friendship!

Happy Hump Day!

I love Wednesdays! They mean there are only 2 more days before the weekend!  ha ha

Tonite I have a card that I was going to wait to post.  I just mailed it off to someone special & wanted her to see it in her mailbox before she saw it here.  But since she doesn't check in every day, I'm hoping I'm safe anyway.  This is another Sassy Cheryl's digi.

The paper was from a 6X6 pack by My Mind's Eye.  I colored her with Prismacolor brush markers & the cute bow is from Memory Box.  I had only 2 small sheets of this paper & ruined the first one trying to sew a border.  My sewing machine gave me nothing but knots the other night, no matter how I adjusted the tension so I gave up & used my black pen.

Have a great rest of the week!  We are going to have storms tonite, so I'm hoping they won't keep me awake all night while they rumble & bang! We DO need the rain, though!

Catch you later.

Flower Power

Happy Monday!

They do roll around quickly, don't they!  And it looks like this week will be a rather warm one too. It is still 86 degrees at 7 pm and tomorrow they are calling for 95+ and humidity.  Lovely!  lol

I have a card I don't do a lot of tonite.  Scenes, no matter how pretty, just don't usually grab me.  This one, however, was just pretty enough I thought I would give it a try.  It's such a large image I ended up cutting it out. The leaf borders are from Cheery Lynn & the gingham paper is from Creative Imaginations.

Have a great week!  Stay cool!!

The Perils of Cleaning

Hi,
I don't have a card to share tonite, but I thought you might get a chuckle out of the results of my cleaning. After my last post, I decided to really clean off my desk and spent the evening putting away all the toys I had pulled out to make my last card.  Brady watched the process & seemed to find it quite entertaining. As soon as I finished, he jumped up on the desk & proceeded to make himself at home. Apparently,  he assumed my cleaning was to prepare a nice clean spot for him to nap!

I missed the cutest picture though.  I have a tape dispenser in the shape of a cat that is painted exactly like Brady.  My sister bought it for me years & years ago before I ever had my first cat & I still use it.  He spotted the dispenser & spent several minutes nose to nose with it (no doubt wondering why this cat looked so familiar) and checking it out.

Hopefully, I will be back tomorrow with an actual card.  It was a long week....

Sunshine yellow

Hi, all!

I hope your week is going well. I have some "sunshine" to share with you tonight. I adore polka dots and couldn't pass up a pack of paper at Michael's awhile back when it was on sale half off.  I thought it would be the perfect background for this Judith stamp. I added some stickles to the petals and should have stopped there.  I already had these little flowers I had made glued in place when I got the brilliant idea (not) to darken the centers of them with stickles. I liked them better before! lol

The little petals are from a Memory box die and I used a Spellbinder die to cut it out.

Have a great Wednesday!  Hump day already!!

Catch you later.

It Won't Be Long Now...

Hi, Everyone!
Well, it won't be long now until fall arrives.  You can feel it in the air every day.  There is just that subtle change in the way the sun shines and it is a little bit cooler in the mornings....and a tiny bit darker. And of course, the biggest give away of all, the massive devil tree in my neighbor's parking has been dropping tons of seeds, leaves, and garbage which fill my yard & sidewalk!  I don't normally wish for trees to die, but I would sing & dance for days if this one did! I have no trees in my front yard and yet all of the leaves from their tree bury my yard starting about August and go on until October.  So today I have a "fall" card to share.

This is another cute digi from Sassy Cheryl. I mounted it on one of my new Joy Craft Square dies and cut some tiny fall leaves with an Impression Obsession die. I used my Martha Stewart score pal to add some raised lines around the edges of the card, but they are a bit hard to see in the photo. Unlike my amazing grandson who just ribboned in 3 of the 5 photos he submitted to the state fair, my photography leaves a lot to be desired!  And when I say amazing, I truly mean it! He just completed the requirements for Eagle Scout as well.  I don't suppose you can tell that I love him to pieces can you?  lol

I was going to work on cards this afternoon, but I think I had better spend some time cleaning up the mess I made with this one first!

Have a great week! Catch you later.

An old fashioned hello...

Happy Friday!

I bet you are all as ready to start the weekend as I am!  So to start the weekend, I'm sharing an old fashioned Hello tonite.  Sometimes you just need an old fashioned card, don't you?

Don't you love the look of the old fashioned phones?  My, how things have changed!  This stamp is from Hot off the Press.  I colored it with pencils & gamsol & mounted it with 2 of my favorite Spellbinder dies. (Yes, I know they are ALL my favorites!)  I found the perfect paper in my stash.  I believe it was Recollections paper, but it didn't come in a pad, just a stack.

Well, I have some new dies so I'm off to see what I can come up with!  It's play time!!

Cow party!

Hi, all!

Yup, it's time to party again.  This time the birthday party is hosted by a cute cow from Whipper Snappers!  This stamp is actually left over from my "cow" period....don't we all go through different favorites?  I can tell what I was into by the critters I have collected....the cows, the mice, the cats, dogs, hedgehogs, chickens.....
Yes, ladies, I have them all!  ha ha  You just never know when you might need a fat chicken in a corset!  Now that's a sentence I never thought I would be saying!

I colored him with Prismacolor markers & added the Joy Craft corners. And of course, you have to have some stickles on his gift & hat! What self respecting cow could leave home without glitter?

Have a great Thursday!  Saturday will be here before we know it!

Poppies

Hi, all!

I hope you all made it thru your Monday!  After 2 days off, mine was spent trying to play catch up.

As promised yesterday, I have some flowers tonite.  These were a quick card made with poppies from A Day for Daisies. I had them colored up & wanted something simple for a thank you.  Spellbinder die, Martha Stewart punch, a little ribbon & you are done.

I seem to be on a kick of gaudy colors this week.  I'll try to tone it down for the next one! LOL

Have a great Tuesday!  Catch you later.

4 U

Hi,
I hope you all had a great weekend! I actually had a couple of days off last week & was planning on using them to do a lot, but you know how the best laid plans turn out!  At least mine seem to end that way. I did manage to work on some cards this afternoon, but I think my mojo has taken time off too! Ever have one of those days when just nothing seems to come together?

Point in question.  I started off going in an entirely different direction with the card I'm sharing. And I certainly didn't intend to do it in the colors I ended up with either.  The image is from Crafters Companion and I used Spellbinder dies & a Martha Stewart punch. The flowers were hand made yesterday & are the only part of the card I am really happy with.  LOL  The bow is from a Lil Inker die & the leaf tendrils are  from a Memory Box die.

Have a great week!  I'll be back tomorrow with some flowers.
