A change of pace

Hi, everyone!

I hadn't planned to post today, but have been working on a couple of projects since yesterday & wanted to share them with you.  My daughter found a Halloween wreath she really loved & I told her I would make it.  Unfortunately, it came with few directions & what there were didn't help.  I used a 24" wreath form just like they said & the thing was big enough to hang on the door of the White House!  I hated it!  So today, I made another trip back to the store, bought all new supplies & went a different route.  I'll post yesterday's version along with the newer one.  The newer version is STILL huge, but because I used burlap mesh this time, it is a lighter look.  The lack of color on yesterday's version just wouldn't go so I had to add some bright color to today's version.

This is today's version.  Hope she likes this one better! I should have taken closeups of the furry bats!

Today's challenge at QKR Stampede is Fall Colors & I had a lot of fun with this one.  I loved the image I chose.  It is # 18801 Scarecrow and isn't he darling?  This would be perfect for a fall card of any kind as well as Thanksgiving!

I had lots of fun coloring him and there are so many gorgeous fall papers out there to set him off!

It's your turn now!  Head on over to QKR Stampede's blog to see what the other gals have created to get your juices flowing and enter a Fall Color card of your own!  Who knows?  You might just be the winner!

Two for the price of one!

Hi, everyone!

Wednesday again & you know what that means!  Time for another Dies R Us posting.  Today I'm showing you just how very versatile some new birthday dies can be!  We all love a bargain, and being able to use dies for multiple uses just makes sense.  I'll show you the masculine card I made using the very same dies I had used for a distinctly feminine card.  To go with a masculine theme, I chose a dark brown as the background color.

And now for the same dies, but with a woman in mind!

Using the same dies, but brighter colors and adding a flower gives you a feminine birthday card that any gal would be happy to receive! The dies  I used  were Spellbinders Elegant Ovals, Die-Mensions Birthday Cake, Poppy Stamps HappyBirthday BackgroundSue Wilson Faux Quilled Leaves.

The dies I used for these cards are all found at the Dies R Us store.  They have the best prices anywhere & shipping is unbelievable!  If you spend $35 or more, it is free shipping and under that amount you only pay $3.95!  Incredible, right?

Hope these cards gave you some ideas!  Be sure to visit their Inspiration Blog AND their Challenge Blog for even more!

Fall Festival

Hi, everyone!

Well, it's the 15th again  & time for another challenge  from Dies R Us.  Today's challenge theme is "Fall Festival" and you can use anything fall related.  The only requirement is that you must use at least one die in your card creation.  Simple, isn't it?  And by joining in the challenge you may find yourself the proud winner of a gift certificate to Dies R Us so you can shop their fabulous array of dies, stamps & embossing folders!  This challenge will run for 2 weeks, so that gives you plenty of time to play along! And plenty of time to shop for any extra dies you may want to use!

Here is my card for today's challenge!

I got carried away on this one!  I ended up using 7 dies on it.  And I have to say, my favorite die was the tree!  I ADORE these dies! By changing the "leaves" from green to rusts you can go from summer to fall.  and do them in white & you have winter snow!  Awesome trees aren't they?  There are actually 2 different tree bases and one tree "topper" which is the foliage.  I had to pick up the second tree base just the other day. I was going to go with just one, but when I saw the amazing trees I could create, I decided I had to have the other one too!  They are now my favorite "go-to" trees!

The dies I used are here:
Dee's Distinctively Tree Base 1
Dee's Distinctively tree Toppers
Marianne Design Ivy, Birdhouse & bird LR0206
 Taylored Expressions Picket Fence
Memory Box Puffy Clouds (or Memory Box Marshmallow Clouds)
Impression Obsession Cat Die Set
Marianne Design Wooden Bench LR0259

Head on over to Dies R Us to shop after you hit the challenge!  Their prices are fantastic and their shipping is about the lowest I've ever seen!  You know how much I LOVE my dies!  One of the most amazing things about Dies R Us is their huge selection.  I used to order from multiple companies, paying multiple shipping charges (which sometimes ended up being the cost of another die!) just to get all the dies I loved. Now I can shop at ONE store, with free shipping at $35 or more and just $3.95 below that amount!  The money I'm saving is allowing me to have even more dies!  What are you waiting for!  GO SHOPPING!!

Have fun!

Things With Wings!

Happy Friday!

Another week of summer gone so quickly!  Time seems to fly these days.  And speaking of things with wings.....today's challenge #104 at QKR Stampede is "THINGS WITH WINGS" and I couldn't resist this darling angel with her little bag of stardust.  She is digi # 12405 Sprinkling Star Dust & the sentiment is # 12402 Stardust Caution.

My original intention was to add the cute sentiment to the outside of the card, but then I had this new die I wanted to use.....you know how THAT goes!  So, I had to change gears and add the sentiment inside.

Now it's your turn to check out the rest of the talented designers for ideas and play along for a chance to win some fabulous digi stamps of your own!

Have a great weekend!

Let's Celebrate Fall!

Happy Hump Day!

Got the kids all back to school & ready to relax a little bit?  How about making a fall card to celebrate?

I used an old stamp from Plum Purdy for this card.  The stamp is an oldie, but a goodie!  One of my all-time favorite stamps.  I love the whimsical "folk artsy" style of her stamps.

You can't see it, but I also added some "Wink of Stella" to the image for a little glittery touch.
The dies I used are Spellbinders Adorning Squares and Sue Wilson Faux Quilled Leaves from the Dies R Us Store.

Hop on over to Dies R Us to check out what they have going on & to join in the fun over there! You will be amazed at the number of companies they carry.  And it's not just dies anymore either!  You can also get some of your favorite embossing folders & stamps there now as well!

Be sure to take advantage of the Dies R Us Inspirational Blog and all the ideas our terrific design team posts Monday through Friday too!   Hopefully, one of those ideas will help you win a gift certificate on the twice monthly Dies R US Challenge Blog!

Santa Bunny

Happy Monday!

Another week has begun & this one started with a light show!  If the lightning wasn't enough to wake me up, then Brady's banging around in the bathroom certainly was!  He hates storms and if I make the mistake of sleeping thru one, he freaks & does everything he can to wake me up.  Lately, that translates to going into the bathroom & banging everything in the room from the door to bottles or cans he can reach by standing on the stool & stretching.  And Brady.......he's now napping on the chair beside me, no doubt exhausted because we got up so early!

On to today's card.  This is the one I was going to share yesterday, but discovered I hadn't taken a photo of it yet.  Which makes it a bit hard to "share" doesn't it? ha ha

This is a digi from Mo Manning that I adore!  Something about a bunny in a Santa hat that is hard to resist, isn't there?

I cut him out with a Spellbinders Elegant Ovals die & cut a beautiful snowflake from Simon Says Stamp (Eliza Snowflake) in half & used that as my only embellishment.  He is just too beautiful to need anything else.

Off to work on more cards before I head to the store!  I hope your Monday has been a good one & is the start of a fabulous week!

Christmas is coming!

Hi, everyone!

The sun has finally come out and is helping to take the chill out of the air.  It got pretty cool here last night & I have to admit I have my "fuzzy" sheets on the bed now.  Whoever invented microfiber sheets should win some kind of prize!  They are SO much better than flannel & are perfect for this time of the year when the nights get a bit cooler & you just need that little bit of warmth. And when it REALLY gets cold, they are awesome! Just ask Brady!  You can hear him purring the minute he settles in!

Well, all this chill in the air has had me doing Christmas cards!  This one is from a beautiful reindeer cutout that my friend Gail gave me.  She cut it out on her Silhouette cutting machine.  I combined him with a Spellbinder Elegant Oval, a Sue Wilson Faux Quilled Leave & a Poppy Stamp Small Poinsettia.

I think he turned out pretty cute!  Aren't friends wonderful?

Back later with something I made with some of my new dies.

Polka Dot Christmas

Happy Friday!

Well, our weather may not be cold enough for Christmas yet, but the high today is only supposed to be 66 and the low tonite, only 45.  I think I had better start working on some Christmas cards!  You all know how much I adore Sassy Cheryl digi's, and she has some of the cutest snowmen around.  Here are a couple of them I couldn't resist.

Both of these were colored with my usual Prismacolor brush markers. Polka dots may not be exactly Christmas paper, but I thought they worked!  The beautiful die on the second one is not mine.  My friend Gail let me cut a couple of them out last week.  This die is now on my "have to have" list!  ha ha

Have a great weekend!  Hopefully, the rain will stop and the sun will warm things up!

Catch you later!

Flower Power

Hi, all!

Today I'm sharing a couple of birthday cards made with a new die from Sue Wilson. It's called Austrian Collection-Background & it was another of those "OMG, I HAVE to have that" dies!   I have a HUGE "wish" list of dies I really want "someday" as I'm sure you do, but sometimes you see one that you love too much to wait for.  You already have cards planned out in your head before your fingers have even entered the order!

These are just the first 2 cards I made with this fabulous die. The flowers were made with a die from Ellentina (4 Petal Flower DCF003) This flower die was one I got on vacation earlier this year when my daughter & I went to Kansas City & it was another "OMG, I HAVE to have that" die too!  Oh, dear, am I noticing a trend here? But, wasn't I right?  ha ha

Time to get back to the other cards I was working on!  It's going to be a busy day!  Dad turns 92 today!

A Plum Purdy Christmas!

Hi, all!

Are you having a great week?  I hope so!  If not, it is halfway over so that should be some consolation at least!  ha ha

Today I have a Christmas card I made with one of my favorite stamps from Plum Purdy!  I drag this one (and the boy stamp that goes with it) out every year and always make something I like with them every time!

Isn't she adorable?  I used 3 dies on her and all of them can be found at Dies R Us!  Spellbinders Reflective Moment, Spellbinders Elegant Ovals & Spellbinders Create a Flake 1.  The snowflakes don't show up as beautiful as they really are.  I cut them with glitter paper, but my photo talents leave a lot to be desired! lol

I hope you head on over to the Dies R Us store.  We currently carry about 39 different companies and more products than you can imagine all under one big roof!  Shipping is always $3.95 or free on domestic orders over $35.  See what you can find to create some wonderful cards of your own!

Create a Wreath!

Hi, all!

Well, it may only be the first week of September, but it is definitely time to start thinking Christmas cards!  Anyone who makes their own knows you need to start early!

I've been working on several this week & am sharing one of them today.  It was done with the Spellbinders Create A Wreath die, an embossing folder and a corner rounder punch.  Nothing hard, but it creates a beautiful card.

Sometimes its kind of fun to go with something different for a change!

Have a great day!  I'll catch you again shortly with something totally different.
