Just a Happy Little Note!

Happy Hump Day!

Your week is half over & the month is drawing to an end as well.  That means spring is even closer!!  I'm thinking of days warm enough to grow flowers today!  We all need a backup stash of blank note cards for those times we need a quick card to say hello...thinking of you....thank you....hope you are feeling better....the list is endless!  This card is not only quick to make, but fun.  I used the following dies:
Poppy Stamps Classic Ribbons, Poppy Stamps Bountiful Sunflower and Poppy Stamps Bountiful Sunflower Background.

Dies R Us also carries dozens & dozens of other flowers that could be substituted for this one too. Check out their awesome selection here!  And don't forget to check out both the Daily Inspiration Blog as well as the twice monthly DRU Challenge Blog!

Happy Crafting!

What's Cooking?

Hi, all!

I have been working on a get well card today & actually hadn't planned to share it so I snapped a quick shot of it just sitting on my desk.  Then, of course, I changed my mind so I have to ask you to ignore the bad photography. I over adjusted the contrast so badly you can't even see the shading.

This is a card for my sweet son-in-law who has been going through more health issues than any human should have to endure.  I'm hoping it brings him a smile!  The sentiment inside this card is what makes it so funny!  "I'd make you a nice pot of chicken soup.....but I want you to get well!"  Perhaps I should have prefaced this by saying that he is a fantastic cook!  As my daughter & grandson are also.  When you go to their home for a meal it is always better than a 5 star restaurant! They can all cook rings around me!  ha ha  So I know he will appreciate the sentiment!  This was a digi from Hambo Stamps!  Sorry, I had the wrong stamp company listed on my original post!  Long day!

I hope you are having a great week!  It's hard to believe the East coast is getting a blizzard when it is in the low 50's here today!  Unbelievable temps for Iowa in January!  But I'm NOT complaining!!!

Catch you later!

Challenge # 123 - Shaped Cards

Hi, Gals!

It's time for this week's QKR Stampede challenge & it will be a fun one!  The theme this week is "shaped cards" and this gives you a chance to do a  lot of creative things.  I decided on a scalloped circle for my card.   It seemed to be perfect for this digi# 10501 Feeding the Bears!

I love snowmen & this one would make a cute Christmas card or just a great "thinking of you" card to send someone to break up the monotony of winter.

Head on over to QKR Stampede's Challenge Blog & enter YOUR card!  Good luck!

Catch you later,

Happy Retirement!

Happy Hump Day, Gals!

I know I have been posting a lot of Valentines lately, but I'm going to share a retirement card this time.  My daughter's boss retired & I wanted something extra special for him as he is such a sweet man.  Here are the dies I used:  Frantic Stamper Golf Companion, Memory Box Puffy Clouds, Memory Box Golf Club Landscape, Impression Obsession Plane with Banner.

This would make a great card for a birthday too!

Be sure you check out the Dies R Us Challenge Blog! You still have time to enter for a chance to win a gift voucher to the fabulous store!  The Dies R Us Store is my absolute favorite place to shop! I know it will be yours too!

Romance

Hi, all!

Happy Monday to everyone too!  I thought I would start the week out with a little old fashioned romance.  Most of us don't have enough romance in our lives!  (Some of us don't have ANY!) ha ha What better way to add some than with an old-fashioned Valentine full of lace & hearts & cupid and just screaming love!

The image is from Aurora Wings & seemed perfect for an old-fashioned card.  The lace was given to me by a dear friend & was perfect for this card. Both of the dies can be found at Dies R Us.

I hope your week will be a good one! Catch you later!

Challenge # 122 Cupid

Hello, again!

It's Friday and time to join in the latest QKR Stampede challenge & this week the challenge is "Cupid" to help you get a headstart on those Valentines I know we are all working on right now!

I chose digi # 10602 Cupid Bear for my card.  He just made me laugh the minute I saw him.  I'm afraid my aim with a bow & arrow would be about as bad as his apparently is.

Okay, ladies, you know you will be making Valentines, so why not make something to enter this week's challenge for the chance to win some great stamps?  Head on over to the QKR Stampede Challenge Blog & join in!

Have a great weekend!

Butterfly Thank You

Hi, everyone!

It's that time again! On the 1st and 15th of the month we start a new challenge at the Dies R Us Challenge Blog!  The theme for this one is "Embossing Folders" and you must use an embossing folder along with your dies for a chance to win a gift voucher to the store!  We all have embossing folders so this sounds like a fun challenge!  Here is what I came up with for my sample to get you started!

I used the following dies & embossing folder: Sue Wilson Faux Quilled Leaves, Cheery Lynn Exotic Butterflies Small, Spellbinders Classic Ovals Large & Sizzix Butterfly Lattice Set.

This is a close up of the butterfly I used for this card.  There are actually 3 gorgeous butterfly dies in this set, so you have a lot to choose from.

I used a small amount of blush pink ink to highlight the top edge of the beautiful embossing and make it stand out even more. This set actually contains TWO embossing folders & both of them are gorgeous & give you a vivid embossing.

Stop on over to the Dies R Us Store to see all the dies & embossing folders (and don't forget the stamps!) that we carry!  I really think we have the most extensive selection and lowest prices of any company out there!

Be sure to stop at our daily Dies R Us Inspiration Blog too!  We have a terrific design team and you will be amazed at the ideas you will come away with!

See you again tomorrow!

Can you guess?

Hi, everyone!

Can you guess what today's posting will be?   Surprise.....another Valentine!  ha ha  I hope
everyone isn't already tired of Valentines.  But I had a new embossing folder I got for Christmas and a new die I wanted to take for a spin!

I LOVE this embossing folder by Nellie Snellen and the die is Memory Box Snowflake Heart, which you can find at Die R Us.  My daughter got the embossing folder on line.

Hope you are all having a wonderful start to your week! Although it is really cold here, at least we can see sunshine today!  That alone makes ME feel better!

Challenge #121 Baby It's Cold Outside!

Hi, gals!

Are you all bundled up & keeping warm?  As the title for this week's challenge at QKR says, "Baby It's Cold Outside!"  I don't know about you, but I'm counting down the days until spring arrives!  I am NOT a winter person!!  Neither is this adorable guy!  I picked digi # 16713 Anywhere South for my image for today.

I hope someone picks him up soon or his poor thumb may freeze in that position!  Head off to QKR Stampede's Challenge blog to join in and add your card for a chance to win!

Catch you again soon!

Challenge #120 - Anything Goes!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

I can't believe another year is over & a new one has begun.  A year that  I am praying will be a better one for everyone & one that we will look back on with fond memories this time next year!

Our first challenge for the new year at QKR Stampede is Challenge #120 - Anything Goes!  These are always fun challenges because you have such a wide open field of subjects to choose from when you make your card.  I decided to go with digi # 14405 Father Time.   I fussy cut him to fit onto the clock face I found.

It's YOUR turn now!  Put all those new craft supplies I know Santa brought you for Christmas to work & make a card for the challenge!   I can't wait to see what you all come up with!

Happy Crafting!!
