Bunches of Thanks!

This has been quite a week.  On Wed. I went to what I thought was a safety meeting at work, only to find that it was a surprise party for me to celebrate my 30 year anniversary. I don't think I have ever been so surprised in my life. Apparently, it was planned & postponed 3 different times in the last 2 weeks because one or both of the owners was going to be out of town & both wanted to be there. I'm told there were numerous e-mails going back & forth to everyone all labeled "super secret" to schedule & reschedule the event.  I'm nominating all of them for the CIA. Not one word of the surprise leaked out to me. I've been debating on the thank you card to send.  This is one choice.
The stamp is from My Favorite Things & I colored it with my colored pencils & gamsol. The flowers are from Martha Stewart. The paper was from K & Co.

Well, my energy is dwindling.  It's been a long day.

Driving By With a Birthday Hi...

Well, the dreaded guy card is done.  Not my best effort & I will probably end up doing something else instead of giving this one.  I think I will blame it on the guy! Every guy should have a hobby of some kind or a favorite sports team or a favorite SOMETHING that you could base a birthday card around! Without one of these things, you are pretty much left with the universal :"guy" thing.....a truck!  ha ha

On the bright side, at least I have an emergency guy card done.  And I have turtle sundae ice cream in the freezer!! Life is good!

Love those bunnies!

Well, the snow they forecast for today of 1 to 3 inches never arrived, but another Easter bunny did!  You have to love these sneaky little rabbits that just keep popping up don't you?  I colored this little sweetie with my colored pencils & Gamsol. The paper is from a paper pack by Paper Studio.

Such a cheery little guy, don't you think? I should have been working on a birthday card I need, but decided to color this up instead.  I need a dreaded "guy" card for someone with no hobbies. See why I put it off & did this instead?  Guess I better see what I can come up with.

You can never have enough bunnies!

I couldn't resist trying a different version than the Easter card I did yesterday with this same image. I can think of so many different versions with this sweet stamp.  And since I have a lot of Easter cards to make, I may try several other versions of her as well.  Why is it that you always find that one stamp that you end up making most of your cards with when you have a whole drawer full of wonderful stamps that you should be using?

Time to go watch Castle!  Love that show!!

Can I convince you I'm a bunny?

How cute is this stamp!  Another Mo Manning image, of course, and so cute you just have to smile.
Having already posted once today, I hadn't intended to do a second one, but loved the paper on this card & couldn't wait. The paper is from a K & Co pad that begged to come home with me when I went to Michael's for glue dots this afternoon. Yes, I can hear you all groaning from here!  I know I said I wasn't going to buy any more paper.  But it was on SALE!!  Doesn't that make it ok???

That's it for tonite.  Catch you tomorrow.

Shall we sing for you?

Singing cats!  Do you think that will work for a "guy" card?  I've done cards for everyone at work for years now & I have another guy card this week. I've already done cars, trucks, hunting, deer, & more for him so I'm going with singing cats this year.  Why is it so hard to do guy cards!  I think it has a lot to do with the fact that you really can't use a lot of flowers, ribbon, glitter and all the stuff we women love to use on our cards.

I carried the singing theme inside & made the message sound like the "Happy Birthday" song.

Duty done, now I can go back to making fun stuff! ha ha

Have a great week.  Catch you all later!

Bella's Birthday

Wow! I was hoping to finish another card for a second posting tonite, but didn't expect it to be this fast! Ever have one of those days when things just kind of come together easily?  Normally it takes me forever to decide on paper, colors, image, (snacks to eat while creating) layout....etc. etc.  Tonite I grabbed some purple papers I have had a long time & rarely used. I love purples but just don't make a lot of cards with those colors for some reason.  This is a Mo Manning digital stamp and the papers are from a pack by Deja Views.  It will go to a gal I work with & I hope she likes it.

Back to the drawing board.  I still need one of those dreaded "guy" cards we all hate to make.

The Bunny Fence

I seem to be seeing lots of bunnies around these days. I just scared one little guy earlier this evening when I went outside to change the flag on my lightpost. And since Easter is getting closer every day, here is a family of bunnies to get you in the mood! This is a Northwoods Rubber Stamp image that my daughter found. I thought some ric rac trim and flowers would add to the spring mood.

Off to work on some much needed birthday cards now, but hopefully, I will have more to share later tonite.

A Trio of Bunnies

Hi everyone,
I thought I had better post a card tonite before I dozed off again. I can't seem to keep my eyes open. That is probably explained by the fact that I had some tests today & they give you some really crazy drugs. Combined with the fact that I didn't get much sleep the night before.... Thankfully, there were no really serious problems & the worst of it was going thru all the prep before the testing!  At least according to my angel of a friend Gail , I have provided her with funny stories of the things I said today so it was worth a chuckle at least!

This Easter card is made with a Northwoods Rubber Stamp that my daughter found for me. Such adorable rabbits just had to be colored.  The paper is K & Co & I used some of Martha's glitter glue on the flowers.

Back to work tomorrow!  Hopefully, much more rested!!

This & That..

I had intended to work on Easter cards this afternoon, but got side tracked.  I wanted to make a St. Patrick's day card with one of my Stella images from Bugaboo Stamps.  Love her attitude!

I took a break after this one & discovered by talking to my Dad that one of my Mom's old friends was celebrating her 90th birthday soon & they were having a card party for her.  I decided to make a special card for her as I know Mom would want to remember the occasion.

I thought this Lili of the Valley image would make a cute birthday card & I decided to try my hand at making my own flowers. They were easier than I thought, but may make the card hard to mail as they are pretty dimensional. I think I will try making them a little less compact next time so they will be flatter.

Remember to set your clocks ahead tonite!  I'm missing that extra hour of sleep already!!

Let's skip thru winter!

What do you say we just skip winter away & pretend it is spring ?  I'm ready to pretend the next 3 days of snow are not going to happen & that my yard is full of green grass right now. Anyone else want to join my fantasy?   I thought so!  Winter has overstayed it's welcome!!

This is another Mo Manning image. She was colored with pencils & gamsol. The paper is from a new Daisyd's pad my daughter got me.

I hope everyone has a great week in spite of the snow. Catch you later!

Making Cards is Exhausting!

Well, guys, I've been making cards for two days & I have to post this picture of my "helper" to show you just how exhausting these two days have been for him! He insists on sleeping on the best chair when I am making cards because it has a soft cushion.  All the better to nap on! Can you say SPOILED?

This is one of the cards I made this morning. Another Mo Manning image, of course. and K & Co paper. The flowers are Martha Stewart & it was colored with pencils & gamsol.

Back to work tomorrow.  And from the sounds of it, the weather is changing for the worst for the rest of the week again.  I'll certainly be glad when spring finally arrives!

Catch you later.
