Missing you!

Hi everyone.  This is Sherri's friend, Gail.  Sherri has some health issues she is working through, so say some prayers for her.

She can still work on her cards, but the other problem is that her PC also has issues. Hopefully she and her computer will be well soon and back to posting.  She misses sharing and visiting all your blogs.

Peek A Boo!

Don't you love this little guy peeking out from behind his cupcake?  He has his party hat on and he's ready to PARTY!  I struggled all afternoon trying to decide just how to finish this card once I had colored him. It was one of those days when nothing seemed to click until I stumbled on this layout. I forgot my new camera tends to really bring out color & although his frosting looks a bit bright, it is actually pretty close to the green shade on the rest of the card.  I'm still learning!  This is a Sassy Cheryl's digi & the paper is from The Playtime Stack by DCWV.  The sentiment is from Stamping Up.

It is about 95 degrees outside right now & the humidity is in the high 70's which would be enough to melt the frosting on this cupcake in no time flat!  We can't seem to get decent weather this summer. If it isn't pouring buckets of rain, it is about 100 degrees.  I'm sure in a few months, we will gladly trade the high temps for the cold ones!

I hope you all had a relaxing weekend & will have a great week coming up.  Hopefully, my computer will still poke along until my son-in-law can do his magic on it & restore it to it's original state.

Catch you all later!

Ladybug, Ladybug, fly away home!

After a frustrating night trying to get my computer up & running, I am halfway there.  I still don't have some of my programs (or they are hidden) but at least I can post!  YEAAA!!!!

Here is a card I made this afternoon.  The stamp is from Sassy Cheryl's digi stamps.  I loved the image! The sentiment if from My Sentiments Exactly & the paper is from my stash, probably K & Co. I found the buttons at Michaels.

You have no idea what I went thru to find this picture!  At least it was still there! I'm sure glad I got my hair cut yesterday or I would have pulled it all out tonite.

Have a great weekend.  Catch you all later!

Can you say black cloud?

No cards to post tonite.  Hopefully, this weekend.  It all depends on my ailing computer.  I lost everything tonite. Gail (who knows much more about computers than I ever will) came over & worked on it a long time & we were finally able to connect to the internet & I can get e-mail by searching for it, but all of my programs seem to be gone. What a month it has been.  First it was the central air, then a new stove, then a leaking pipe, and now this. (oh, and in between a broken tooth that will have to be crowned) I need some CHOCOLATE!!

So if I suddenly disappear for a day or so, you will know that the computer is down again (or dead)but keep checking back as I will get it fixed as quickly as I can.

Catch you later!

Come Fly With Me!

A quick post tonite.  I worked late, then had a late appt. for a haircut so I haven't been home long. This is another birthday card for work for one of the guys who is a pilot & lives to fly. It's a pretty simple card, but there aren't many plane stamps I haven't used on his cards already.

The stamps are from Papertrey Ink. I added some ric rac borders I made with dies from them as well. The paper was from my stash.  Nothing exciting tonite.

Tomorow is Friday.  Yeaaaaaa!!  It has been a long week. Short weeks always are in our company. Everyone tries to get 5 days of business shoved into 4 days and you know what that means!  Hopefully, I can have more time to be creative this weekend & my next posting won't be so dull.  ha ha  I guess we all have those days, don't we!  Enjoy the rest of your week.  I'm off to raid the refrigerator for a late nite
snack as there wasn't time for dinner before my haircut & I'm starving now!  Catch you later!

Can you say cheerful?

I don't think I should call this card just "cheerful" as it might be better described as "go put your sunglasses on" instead.  The green paper really stands out!  But it fits the personality of the gal it is for & I hope she likes it.  Yes, it is another card for work.  But the upside to that is a birthday at work also means a food day! Yea!!  Everyone brings enough food to feed an army & we all eat like gluttons all day.  But isn't that what birthdays are for?  ha ha

This is a digi from The Paper Shelter.  I colored her with pencils & gamsol and matted her using Spellbinders dies.  I'm going to enter her in 2 Sisters Challenge Blog -Birthdays.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful week!  Catch you all later!

I'm Back!

Well, I should save this for tomorrow, but decided to do a second post for tonite before I head off for bed. This is a baby card I made for one of the gals at work who just had a little boy today. I got the idea from a beautiful card posted on Splitcoast, where they had used a circle cut to create a baby buggy.  I took that idea & made a version of it for my card.  The Splitcoast card was far more beautiful & if I can find the site again, I will give her credit for it. I didn't have any lace long enough, so used a Martha Stewart flower punch for the lace and ran my circle thru an embossing folder to give it a basket-like texture on the buggy. The background was run thru another embossing folder & I cut small circles for the wheels & added buttons. It was a simple card to make.

Have a great day! The week is almost half gone now. Only a few more days & we will be enjoying another weekend again. Yeaaa!!!

If you didn't see the earlier post, you can scroll down for a chuckle.

Catch you later.

Best Fishes for a Happy Birthday!

Yep, I'm back to birthday cards again.  I swear the birthdays at work just keep exploding & there is always another one coming up.  Since most of my cards are pretty "normal" I thought I would sneak in a little chuckle for a change.  This card is another of my favorites from Prairie Fairy.  I added 2 little fish from an old Stampin Up set & popped them up for a little interest.  I also took some green glitter paper from  my stash & ran it thru the "bubble" embossing folder. Since I already had a lot of glitter there, I also added some to my little mermaid & her fishy companions. You can never have too much glitter! (Probably a sign of old age!) lol

I should have taken my picture a bit less directly in front so that you could see the glitter and the dimension of the fish popped up.  I'm still learning how to work my new camera, obviously.  I colored her yesterday    while I was at Gail's & finished her when I came home. I might have gotten done if not for the time I took to eat!  You can't make cards without eating, right?  I think it is written down in some ancient rule book somewhere!

Off to make a baby card.  For someone at work, of course.  One of these days, I'm actually going to make a card for me! ha ha

Happy Birdie to You!

Happy Fourth of July!

I don't have a Happy Fourth card for you today, but I do have a Happy Birdie card!  I hope that will do instead.  This happy little guy is from Cuddly Buddly stamps. Can't you just see how happy he is to be this close to "lunch" in a box!  My cat would be in the same spot, but would already have 2 paws inside!

This is the same cat that was so naughty when he was little that I had to install a child proof lock on the freezer compartment of my refrigerator because he figured out how to open it from the top! Thankfully, he has calmed down to a pretty well behaved (for the most part) kitty now that he is older.  The paper for this card is from The Paper Studio and the dies used were from Spellbinders. I colored him with pencils & gamsol . Since he will go for another office birthday card, I'm hoping the person getting him will like him.

I hope all of you had an absolutely wonderful Fourth and a safe one! I'm sure all of us will be tired tomorrow after listening to fireworks late into the night again. It's hard to believe it is already July!  Have a great week!

A cork card!

In keeping with my plan to catch up on my birthday cards I'm late on, I thought I would start with the hardest one first.  The dreaded "man" birthday!  Why is it cards for men are always so hard to make?  I decided to try something different & stamp on some cork sheets I had in my stash.

The stamp is from Inkadinkado. I ran my cardstock thru one of my embossing folders to give it more texture. The die cuts were made with Spellbinder & Die-Namics dies & the sentiment is from Stampabilities.
This is actually my second post for today so if you missed the first one, please scroll down.
I am going to enter this card in The Paper Shelter-challenge#20-Anything Goes and also in the
2 Sisters Challenge blog challenge#46-Birthdays.

Have a great 4th everyone! Catch you all later!

Get Well Ethyl!

 Hi all,

I hope everyone is having a great holiday weekend!  Between visiting Mom at the nursing home, my aunt at the hospital & having a special dinner for Dad today, I haven't had a lot of card time.  But instead of working on the cards I need for work, I thought it was more important to answer Sheree Taylor's plea for get well cards for a woman who has gone thru more in her life than we can imagine. Please visit Sheree's wonderful blog "Vancouver Island Craft Junkie" for the whole story.  You can't help but be touched.  I hope she is able to get hundreds of cards to help lift Ethyl's spirits & let her know there are people who have never met her, but still send her their prayers for a complete recovery.

This is the get well card I made this afternoon & will send to Sheree for Ethyl. I used the Tea for Two stamp set from Paper Trey along with the die cut that goes with it. I also included a shot of the inside of the card where I have put a tea bag inside the decorated sack.

This is the front of the card. It's hard to see, but does say Get Well Soon on the tea pot. And here is a shot of the inside with the tea bag inserted.  I don't drink a lot of tea, but do like it & especially when I don't feel well.

Hopefully, there will be many, many cards coming her way!

Well, the fireworks are already starting to go off in my neighborhood. Poor Brady will be under the bed once they get really fired up!  He has never liked loud noises.  I suppose all the cats (and dogs) in town will be under the bed tonite & tomorrow! lol

Off to work on birthday cards & a sympathy card for work. Hopefully, my mojo will kick into high gear & I can come up with some quick ideas! I have a whole pot of coffee left from dinner so I may have to hit that to stay awake!

Hugs

Today's card is one I made especially for my Aunt Joan who had a stroke this week. I found the template for this card on Splitcoast by the talented Dina Kowal. Who can't use a hug?  Especially when you are having some health issues and are in the hospital.

The sentiment is from Stampin Up and the girl is from Inky Antics. The flowers were from my stash, but I think they are Martha Stewarts.  She was colored with copics and cut out to adhere to the card.

I have a lot to get done this weekend, but with everything going on, I may not have as much time as I had hoped. I do hope all of you are having a wonderful (and safe) Fourth of July weekend wherever you are!
