QKR Stampede Challenge # 171 - Snowman or Snowflake

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

I'm guessing most of you won't have a spare minute to check blogs today, you will be much too busy with family & friends enjoying the true meaning of the day.  So, if you are getting to this post a week later, I completely understand.  Christmas SHOULD be about family, friends and the celebration of Jesus.  Too often we get caught up in everything else & forget the real reason we celebrate.

Since there is still a QKR Stampede challenge today, I will post my entry for this week's theme: Snowman or Snowflake.  I used digi # 14214 Selling Snowflakes.  I decided I couldn't go wrong with a snowman selling snowflakes!

If you need a last minute card for someone you left off your list, this one is about as quick to color as you will find!  You could easily make one in time to give yet and nobody would be the wiser!

I want to wish everyone a totally awesome and fantastic Christmas!  I love Christmas & I always feel that at this time of the year, people are just a little bit kinder, a little bit more considerate and a lot more thoughtful than at any other time of the year.  For me it is a time of reflection on all the blessings I have been given.  This year will be hard for all of us.  When Mom passed away, it changed Christmas forever.   With Dad gone now too, we will have to find a new tradition...a new way to celebrate all the blessings & love that still remain. Change is just part of growth.  So whether you are celebrating the same way you have for countless years or celebrating your first Christmas with new traditions, I wish you health, happiness & peace! No matter HOW we are celebrating this day, we are still celebrating the most wonderful gift God could ever have given us!

Merry Christmas from my house to yours!

Merry Christmas!

I know that none of you will be checking blogs tonight, but when the presents are all unwrapped and you finally have a few minutes to sit down & unwind from the hectic weeks just past, you may just pop in.  If you do, I want to wish everyone a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!
When I count my blessings, I always count all of you who have encouraged me, visited my blog & shared your lives with me via "blog land"....I have come to think of so many of you as dear friends over the years & am so thankful I met you.  I wouldn't have missed this for the world! And I'm so grateful to my grandson Josh for telling me I needed a blog (and helping me start it).

I hope your Christmas was joyous and your new year will be filled with everything wonderful!
Hugs,
Sherri

Celebrate!!

Merry Christmas, everyone!

Can you believe tomorrow is Christmas Eve?  Time rushes past faster & faster every year!  By now, I'm sure everyone is busy doing last minute things to get ready for the big day & you may not have a lot of time to work on your cards.  If you still need a quick card for that someone special, this is an easy one to create. The digi is from Sassy Cheryl and colors quickly.  I used only 3 dies:  Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Oval Stackables, Poppy Stamps Holiday Winterberries Memory box Stitched Star Layers.  If you are pressed for time, you could go with the stitched oval & still have a darling card.

Since this is my last post before Christmas, I want to thank everyone for stopping by each week and to wish you all the most blessed of holidays!  MERRY CHRISTMAS !!!

QKR Stampede Challenge # 170 - Christmas

Happy Friday!

I can barely believe that this time next week will be Christmas Day!  Where did the time go?  I hope you are more prepared than I am and can just sit back & enjoy the holiday the way it was meant to be enjoyed!  The theme for today's QKR Stampede weekly challenge appropriately enough is "Christmas" and I chose digi # 24238 Old Time Santa as my choice of image.

There was just something so quaint about him I couldn't pass him up.  And instead of the traditional red coat, I decided to go with green.  In some of the old paintings of Santa he wore green and I thought it looked a bit more "old world" instead of the red.

If you are one of the lucky ones who is caught up with your Christmas preparations, we would love to have you join in this week's challenge blog!  Some new digi's would make a wonderful Christmas gift to yourself!

Catch you soon,
Sherri

Sharing Love at Christmas!

Hello, friends!

The closer it gets to Christmas, the more love you feel in the air!  And this little snowman is definitely feeling it!  With his arms around the puppy and outstretched to welcome the birds, he is ready to share his love! This cute digi is from Sassy Cheryl and one of my favorites.  Her snowmen are not only adorable, but quick to color so your cards will be done in a snap!  By adding only 2 dies to this image, you have a handmade Christmas card you can give with pride.  The two dies I used were Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Square Stackables and Memory Box Dancing Snowflake Frame.  Since the snowflake frame is rectangular in shape, I decided to cut it in half & use it for my bottom frame.  Don't be afraid to use just portions of your dies!  You will be amazed at the many versions you can create doing this!

Christmas is just around the corner, but you still have time to pick up some amazing dies to create your own cards! And I don't know about you, but I can't think of anything better than a gift card to Dies R Us under the tree!

A new challenge just began yesterday at the Dies R Us Challenge Blog!  Head over there & you may be the lucky winner of your own gift card & you won't have to wait for Santa!

See you next week!

DRU Challenge - Let It Snow!

Hello, friends!

Although the theme for today's Dies R Us Challenge is "Let It Snow!" & a winter theme with snowflakes is what you need to enter, I am REALLY hoping it is NOT snowing!  Lol  If there was some way to have it snow just on Christmas Eve (and only in the grass, not the sidewalks or roads) I would be all for it!  I love looking at snow, but not shoveling it or driving in it!  ha ha  So it was easy to choose a favorite digi from Sassy Cheryl for my card & concentrate on all the FUN things you can do in snow!

The dies I used for this card are as follows: Sweet Dixie Snowflake Corner, Lawn Fawn Stitched Snowflakes & Memory Box Cross Stitched Frame Borders.   I used pop dots to raise the snowflakes but it is difficult to see in the photo.

So gather your winter images & your snowflakes & head on over to the Challenge Blog & enter your own winter card!  You could be the winner of a gift voucher to the amazing Dies R Us Store!

And be sure you also check the daily inspiration from our talented design team on the Dies R Us Inspiration Blog as well!

See you tomorrow with another fun card!

QKR Stampede Challenge # 169 - Snow Scene

Hello, friends!

Time for another QKR Stampede weekly challenge and your chance to win fabulous digi stamps!  The theme this week is "Snow Scene" and there are so many different images that you could choose for this one that it will take you forever trying to make up your mind.  This funny little guy caught my eye almost immediately and I just had to go with him!  I think if I lived at the North Pole, I'd be finding some way to keep warm too!   Hot water bottles tied around your middle certainly should do the trick! This is digi # 16815 North Pole.

Head on over the the QKR Stampede Blog with YOUR entries!  I can't wait to see which ones are your favorites!

Enjoy your weekend!

Double the Value!

Hello, again!

Well, the countdown is definitely on & it won't be long before Christmas is here!  Last week, I shared a feminine birthday card with you & this week, I am sharing a masculine birthday card.  No matter what the holiday, we still need birthday cards for those dear to us.  I thought a quick & easy country themed card would be perfect for this time of the year.   And the best part about this design is that by cutting it in white, you can also create a gorgeous Christmas card! Double the value!!

The dies I used for this great card are all from Memory Box!  I used Memory Box Deer TrioMemory Box Grand Forest Archway Memory Box Cross Stitched Frame Borders.  Grab these dies & see what fabulous Christmas or birthday cards you can make!

Here is the gorgeous Christmas card you can make by adding Cheery Lynn's Merry Christmas die for the sentiment! I wish you could see the card in person.  The glitter paper makes it just beautiful!

Don't forget to check out the Dies R Us Challenge Blog!  You could be the winner of a gift voucher! And don't forget to tell Santa that he could make you deliriously happy with a gift card to the Dies R Us Store! I can't think of anything better than that!

See you next week!  Have a great week!

A Helping Hand!

Hello again!

Back with another Christmas card!  As I promised you yesterday, I DO know where I got this image! It's another beauty from Sassy Cheryl!

I decided the image was perfect for this great tree paper I've had awhile.  I don't think you can ever have too much paper.....especially Christmas paper!  I have a REALLY hard time walking past it, especially if it is on sale half off!  Isn't there some rule in the universe that says you HAVE to buy it then?

Back again tomorrow for Dies R Us!  See you then!

Santa's on his way!

Happy Monday!

I hope your week is starting off well & it will be a great one!  Another Christmas card, of course!  What else, this close to Christmas!  Lol

I have to "fess" up!  I have pulled out so many Christmas stamps & printed so many digi's while making cards, that I can't tell you whose this is right now!  Hopefully, I will come across it before this posts!  If not, my apologies.

I'll be back tomorrow with another card that I actually DO know the origin of!  ha ha

See you then!

QKR Stampede Challenge # 168 - Add Some Glitter

Happy Friday!

Ready for another fun weekend?  Or are you now getting into the Christmas spirit and thinking about all the things you need to do before the big day? If you are starting to work on your cards, you may want to check out this hilarious image from QKR Stampede!  It is digi # 16709.  As an Elvis fan....(crazed nut would also work)...I couldn't pass this one up!  If you click on the photo, you can see poor Santa talking to someone and saying "No, no, Not ELVIS....Elves, I need more ELVES!"   If you have anyone in your family or among your friends who is an Elvis fan, this would be the perfect Christmas card!

Check out all the other entries and while you are at it, be sure to add one of your own to this week's challenge!  You could be the lucky winner of some great digi stamps!  Head on over to the QKR Stampede Blog now!

Until next time,

Have a Fairy Happy Birthday!

Hello, again friends!

December has rolled around and in the midst of all our holiday preparations we still need birthday cards!  Yup!  Those pesky birthdays just keep rolling by don't they?  So as a break from Christmas cards, I am sharing a fun fairy inspired birthday card today.  The digi image is from one of my favorite places "A Day for Daisies" and she is adorable!  I added just two dies to this card: Memory Box Bloomington Border & Memory Box Cross Stitched Frame Borders.

The Bloomington Border also embosses these beautiful flowers  and I have a closeup of that below.

Be sure to visit our Dies R Us Challenge Blog!  We just started a new challenge yesterday and by playing along, you could be the next winner of a gift voucher to our fabulous store!  Prepare to spend some time once you get there, however, because we have the largest selection of dies, stamps & embossing folders you will find anywhere! It's my absolute favorite place to shop!!!

See you again same time next week!  Try to make some time in your day to create something fun!

Hitching a Ride!

Happy December!

Counting the days until Christmas?  Me too!  And with that in mind, I'm sharing another Christmas card today.  This one is an image from Tiddly Inks that caught my eye.  I love the whimsy of this image!

I kept everything pretty much white because the image just looked "cold" to me.  Anywhere you find Polar Bears has to be a little chilly, right?  lol

A Memory Box Dancing Snowflake Frame & some Lawn Fawn Stitched Snowflakes layered in the corner & it was done!

I'll be back tomorrow with something from Dies R Us!

Enjoy your day!
