Lavender

Hi, everyone!

I hope you had a great weekend and are ready for the start of another week tomorrow.  It was another rainy weekend here. I can almost hear my grass growing with all this rain & humidity! Which means I get to mow again soon.  Ugh!  ha ha  Mowing takes away from creative time!!

Today, I'm sharing a get well card I made with one of my favorite sets of stamps.  It's "Lavender" by Power Poppy and I had such fun making this card!  I'm going to enter it in their "Peep of the Week Challenge." If you have not checked out this website, you need to!  Her stamps are incredible!

After coloring 2 of the images, I fussy cut the beautiful stems and used them as an accent.  I chose Spellbinders Decorative Label Eight to frame this beautiful stamp and a Spellbinders Ribbon Banner for the sentiment.  I think this card would be lovely given with some lavender bath salts as a get well gift.

Have a wonderful week, everyone!

Come Look Thru My Window!

Happy Wednesday!

Rolled around quickly didn't it?   It's "Hump Day" already & your week is half over!  I hope it has been a good one so far!

Today I am sharing a card I posted on Dies R Us this morning.  It's done with one of the new Spellbinder larger sized 5 x 7 dies as a frame.  I had really hesitated in getting any of them, as I don't normally make a 5 x 7 card, but they are really spectacular & I'm glad I gave in.

Doesn't this make a gorgeous frame?  I used Spellbinders Reflective Moment for the frame and the cat die is Die-namites Spring Window.  The corners are from one die of the three you get in Cheery Lynn Lace Corner Deco B.  It's an easy card to do and perfect for the gals on your birthday list who love cats or fussy lacy things, or both, like me!

Stop by the Dies R Us Store to check out their great prices! Free shipping on orders of $35.  Also check out their Challenge Blog too for a chance to win a gift certificate!

Back later with another sample of why I get nothing done all day when I should be cleaning!

What a difference a "die" makes!

Hi, guys!

Hope you forgive my play on words, but the cards I'm sharing today show you just what a difference your choice of dies makes to the final card.  I started with 2 adorable giraffe digi images from A Day For Daisies.  One is a "boy" and one, obviously a "girl" giraffe.   For the girl, I used 2 very distinctly feminine dies: Spellbinder Floral Ovals & Spellbinder Reflective Moment.

For the boy giraffe, I used only a Spellbinders Beaded Oval and a Memory Box Happy Birthday Banner.

Enjoy the rest of your week! Catch you back here tomorrow!

Tiptoe Through The Tulips

Happy Wednesday!

Hump Day already & time for another Dies R Us inspiration.  This is the card I shared today.

I used a digi from Power Poppy and fussy cut it, then matted it with a Spellbinders Floral Oval. The border was done with Spellbinders A2 Scalloped Borders Two (one of my favorite dies).  I LOVE the gorgeous borders you can create with it!

Have a great day & enjoy the rest of the week!

Potted Flowers

Happy Saturday!

The temperature today is absolutely glorious, even if that is because it is so cloudy & gloomy outside!  I should have waited to mow today instead of yesterday when it was about 86 and humid! Since they were forcasting rain for today, I panicked & decided I had better mow yesterday.  I should know not to listen to the weatherman!

I have a birthday card to share today.  I just got some new dies & was anxious to try them out.  I think I changed the design of this card about three times while I was doing it & am not happy at all with the way it finally turned out.  Back to the drawing board! Sometimes your first idea is the one you should go with afterall!   But regardless of that,  I did want to show you the beautiful dies!

This was made with Cheery Lynn Border Carnivale, Memory Box Happy Birthday Garland & Memory Box Fancy Potted Flower dies.   I took the cutouts from the flower pot & colored them with my copics before setting them back into the frame.

I think I have procrastinated long enough now.  Time to start the vacuum and scare the cat out of his afternoon nap! If he hadn't kept us both awake all night "complaining" about the thunder, neither of us would be tired today!  I wonder if they make ear plugs for cats?   Hmmmm.......

Enjoy your weekend!!

Don't you love this bear's face?  It just made me smile when I saw it!

I hope you all had a great week and are ready for a relaxing weekend!

Misc thank you notes

Happy Thursday!

It is gloomy, cloudy & looks like we are in for more rain again today.  I guess the yard will wait until tomorrow afternoon to be mowed now.  I hope wherever you are, the sun is at least shining!  Maybe it's just me, but gloomy days make me tired & I just want to curl up on the couch with a good book.

I have several thank you notes to post today.  I was just playing around the other afternoon trying to get some ideas and before you know it, I had done 3 cards but none of them were exactly what I was looking for. The first one was created with Spellbinders, Cheery Lynn and Magnolia dies. I was going to add a ribbon to tie it shut, but decided I liked it better without.  Unfortunately, I couldn't hold it together for the shot, but I think you get an idea. Folded up, it was really pretty.
This next card was done with a Memory Box die.  Instead of using the cut out from the die, I set that aside to use later & used the negative impression it left.
And lastly, another card made with a Memory Box die using the same technique.
Off to see if I can find some energy somewhere & get something accomplished before I doze off! ha ha Seeing Brady sleeping in the chair beside me really looks pretty good right now!  Oh, to have his life! Sleep , eat, get back rubs, eat, sleep, more back rubs......No wonder he purrs all the time!  I would too!!

Enjoy your day!

A Touch of Country!

Hi, gals!

Wednesday again and time for another bit of inspiration from Dies R Us.  Today I went with a country theme.  I LOVE quilts and although I have never made one from material, I enjoy making them from paper.  I used a Spellbinder Angle Approach for both of these cards.

For this one I used the middle sized die and double sided paper.

For this card I used the smallest & largest dies.

I hope this has given you some ideas for some cards of your own.

Catch you later!

A Special Thank You!

Happy Monday!

I hope your week is going well and the sun is shining where you are!  We had some horrible storms yesterday all around our area, but the worst of it went around us again.  We did get some much needed rain!

Today I have a special thank you to share.  I am still old-fashioned enough that I like to send a real honest to goodness thank you instead of an email only.   I think if someone is wonderful enough to do something nice for you they deserve a special thank you.  I think this one will fit the bill!

Here is a close up of the flowers!  And they are SO easy to make!  That's the best part!

I used Spellbinders Botanical Swirls for the lacy background and the flowers were done with Die-namics Mini Hybrid Heirloom Rose, Cheery Lynn Mineature Rose, Memory Box Tiny Tendril and finished with a Spellbinders Ribbon Banner for the sentiment.  Easy to do and beautiful!

Hope this inspires you to do a few of these for yourself!  By changing the sentiment, you could easily make this into a birthday, get well, or thinking of you card too!
