Butterflies!

Hello, friends!

I REALLY love butterflies....in any form!  And living here in Lincoln I have seen more butterflies the past few weeks than ever before in my life.  Apparently, we are on the migration path and they visit us by the hundreds!  The dies I used for this beautiful card were Poppy Stamps Elsa Butterfly Branch and Joy Crafts Butterfly Oval.

The first card is a birthday card and I love the way the die embossed the butterflies and they can come off the card & look like they are flying!

QKR Stampede Challenge-Anything Goes!

Hello, friends!

It's Friday again & time for another QKR Stampede Challenge.  The theme this week is "Anything Goes" which leaves you wide open to choose anything your heart desires!  This theme is always a favorte! And since I needed more guy birthday cards, I chose digi # 20205-Old Car for my card. I used Lawn Fawn Large & Small Stitched Oval Stackables & Memory Box Gearworks Border. The sentiment is an old one that only says RIV1322G You're a classic on the side.

I know you probably don't think of QKR Stampede for images like this one, but you would be surprised at some of the cool things they have.  If you haven't shopped there before, you need to check it out.

Doesn't this just make the perfect guy card?  Old car, gears and plaid paper! That about says it all.

Get out your favorite stamps and see what you can make!

Sherri

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

I hope you are all ready for a day of overeating and spending time with those you love.  I plan to do both!  I will go to my daughter's for dinner and am taking a recipe I found on Facebook, of all places. Both she & my grandson, Josh ADORE pumpkin anything so this sounded like the perfect desert.  I just finished making it & sampled all the layers, of course.  It's unbelievable!!  I will include it here for anyone who loves pumpkin.

PUMPKIN LASAGNA

INGREDIENTS:

2 rows of Golden Oreos + 2 rows of Pumpkin Oreos (or crushed gingersnaps)
8 TB unsalted butter, melted
1 8 oz PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese (softened)
1/2 cup butter
 1 cup powdered sugar
1 large container cool whip (16 oz) divided
2- 3.4 oz. packages of pumpkin instant pudding
3 cups milk
white chocolate bar (to make curls)

INSTRUCTIONS

1.  Begin by crushing your Oreos. For a very fine mixture, place in your food processor. Place in a ziploc baggie & add melted butter. Mix until it is well coated.
2.  Press into the bottom of a 9 X 13 pan spreading out to cover the entire bottom of the pan.
3. In a medium bowl, blend cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar and 1/2 of the cool whip. Blend well & pour over your Oreo crust.
4. In another bowl, make your pudding by adding your milk to the bowl & instant pudding. Whisk together until pudding thickens. Pour over the cream cheese layer. Refrigerate for at least 5 minutes.
5. Top off with  the rest of your cool whip.  Add white chocolate shavings.
6. Refrigerate at least 1 hour before serving.  ENJOY!

I discovered that Target is the only place I found the pumpkin oreos & they only carry them around Halloween.  You may have to use gingersnaps if you can't find them.

When I count my blessings, I count all the wonderful friends I have met over the years because of this blog.  You are the most wonderful, caring people in the world & I treasure each & every one of you!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

With Sympathy

Hello, friends!

A final "bird" card and then I'm off to butterflies!  Ha ha  I seem to have a thing right now for flying critters! The dies I used were Joy Crafts Vintage Flourishes Birds and Precious Marieke Winter Wonderland.

I love the oval on this card & it really sets off the birds.  I don't know about you, but I am THRILLED to be getting away from bird cards tomorrow!  As much as I love them, I'm tired of looking at them. Tomorrow is our QKR Stampede weekly challenge!

With Sympathy

Happy Hump Day!

Hope your week is going well!  To continue with the bird theme I have had going for several days, I have a beautiful and simple sympathy card to share today.  The oval is a Spellbinders Elegant Oval die and the bird is an Impression Obsession Bird on Branch die.

This is another of my favorite dies I don't use nearly enough.  I love it for a sympathy card!

I'll be back tomorrow with the final "Bird" themed card......I'm cheering too!

Birthday Wishes!

Hello, friends!

Another bird inspired die from my stash.  I had forgotten how many I actually had so it's a good thing I was looking for a bird several days ago.  Lol!

This die really makes a pretty birthday card all by itself. This bird die is a Tutti Designs Bird Branch Chorus & the scallop behind it is from a Lifestyles Nesting Scallop Circle die.

I went with a square card on this one because of the size of the die.  I'll be back tomorrow with a beautiful sympathy card (also with a bird theme).

Birdhouse Birthday!

Happy Monday!

I hope your week is off to a great start!  Do you have your turkey yet?  Hopefully, he is thawing out in your refrigerator!

As I mentioned yesterday, I found some great dies I had forgotten all about and here is another one. This is Tutti Designs Birdhouse Garden.

I adore this die & will certainly remember to pull it out more often as it makes a gorgeous birthday card!  And I love the shade of green I found to go under it.

I'll see you tomorrow with another bird themed card.

Pink Birthdays!

Hello, everyone!

I have so many dies I sometimes forget to pull them out & use them.  I happened to be looking for a bird die the other day & came across this beauty. It is a Tutti Design Bird Tapestry die. It makes a beautiful card all by itself, but I added some flower corners from an old punch and perked it up even further.

I love this die and it makes a gorgeous card all by itself.  I'll be back tomorrow with another bird themed card I also "discovered" while looking through my dies.

With Sympathy

Howdy!

I have a lot of embossing folders and even have this one that also cuts out some areas.  I forget to use them a lot but came across this one the other day & dragged it out. Unfortunately, wherever I found it, I have lost it again so can't tell you the exact name.  The die, however, is Elizabeth Craft "With Sympathy" and I will look further for the embossing folder.

What a pretty card it made.  I'll have to grab it more often!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Sherri

QKR Stampede Challenge - Give Thanks

Hello, again!

Since Thanksgiving is next week, it's a good time to remember all our blessings and to give thanks for them.  The QKR Stampede challenge theme for today is "Give Thanks" and I'm sure you have lots of ideas for a card to do just that.  I chose digi # 14515 - Hunting Turkey.  I'm guessing he may be thankful he has a musket on his shoulder which should prevent him from becoming Thanksgiving dinner!  The die is a Memory Box Cross Stitched Frame Borders.

I've always loved this cute turkey and he makes a perfect Thanksgiving card.  Pull out your favorite stamps & see what you can come up with!   What are YOU thankful for?  I'm thankful for my family, first of all.  And all of the many, many blessings I have been given.  God has been VERY good to me, and I thank Him every single day!

Make mine with lace!

Hi, gals!

I have said many times that I adore lacy cards and this one is certainly lacy! I decided it would also be the perfect touch for a sympathy card. The die I used was Heartfelt Creations Layered Elegant Swirl.

How pretty is this!  I love the shade of periwinkle too.  It's fun trying different colors behind your lacy dies to see which one looks the best to you.

See you tomorrow with our Dies R Us Challenge!

Polka Dot Birthday Wishes

Happy Monday!

Enjoy your week!  It's hard to believe Thanksgiving is next week already.  Where does the time fly?

I love polka dots and this cheerful card would be one that would make me happy to receive.
I grabbed my favorite corner punch (which I know you have seen on many of my cards) and added more flowers to the corners.  The flowers are all flat so will mail quite nicely.

The dies I used were Poppy Stamps Kirby Blooms and a Cheapo Stitched die.

See you tomorrow with another doily card.

Can I model my new leg warmers?

Hello, everyone!

Today's Christmas card is a really fun one!  This is one of my favorite digi images from QKR Stampede & one I use every year.

Don't you love the leg warmers!!  This image makes me smile every time I see it. I'll be sharing another moose next week & you will love him as well!  The Ho Ho Ho die is from Impression Obsession.

Hope you are having a great week!

Birthday in Red!

Hello,

I love frilly doily like cards and always have.  So I grabbed a favorite doily die and a birthday channel die to make this one. The dies I used were Poppy Stamps Happy Birthday Channel & Sue Wilson Configurations Collection-Lattice Arched Adornment.

It's amazing what you can do with a few special dies!  No wonder I am addicted to them!

Check back tomorrow for another birthday card.

Christmas Joy!

Hi, everyone!

It's getting time to start thinking of those Christmas cards & I finally got around to one today.

This is a stamp I found on sale earlier this spring & had never colored up before.  He turned out better than I expected so I guess he was a bargain! He is an Art Impressions "Warm Your Heart Set" and the dies I used are Memory Box Stitched Rectangle Layers and Die-Namites Elegant Holly & Cheery Lynn Holly Corner.

See you tomorrow with a birthday card.

QKR Stampede Challenge - A Touch of Gold!

Happy Friday again!

Since it is Friday, it's time for our weekly QKR Stampede challenge and the theme this week is "A Touch of Gold" which pretty much leaves you free to create anything as long as you include a touch of gold.  I decided on a gold matting for my adorable Christmas moose, which is digi # 9406. The dies I used are Cheery Lynn Holly Corner and Lawn Fawn Large & Small Stitched Square Stackables.

I adore moose!  They are always such a cute way to celebrate Christmas (or winter).  This one is especially cute & ready to celebrate with his holly & jingle bell.

Grab your favorite stamp & see what you can come up with.  If you are the winner, you get your choice of some great new digi stamps!

I love combining polka dots and gingham....my two favorite papers in the whole world!

Praying for you!

Hello,

If I can use a die on a card, I am always happy!  Especially if I can make the focal point of my card the die itself.

I love this particular die and use it a lot.  It makes a beautiful sympathy card & takes very little time.

Back tomorrow with the first of 2 baby cards.

Hello, friends!

This image just struck my funny bone the minute I saw it & I knew it had to join my get well stamps!  I've had it a long time & still laugh at it.

This should cheer up anyone who is feeling under the weather.  I think we can all agree that this is what the doctors REALLY want to say, but don't!  They like to surprise you with the final bill!

QKR Stampede Challenge - Angels

Happy Friday!

Time again for our weekly QKR Stampede challenge & the theme today is angels.  I had a really hard time picking my favorite but finally decided on digi # 19402 Sick Angel.  I thought he would be perfect for a get well card.

I had to laugh at the water bottle location!  Perhaps he had  a really hard landing! Whatever his problem, he seems to have a temperature.

Grab your favorite angel stamp or visit the QKR Stampede store for a new one! They have an amazing array of angels!  Join in on the fun & you may be the winner of some great new digi stamps!

Wishing you "re-leaf"

Hello, again!

Ready for a great weekend?  I hope you already have your Halloween candy bought! I'm not sure how many little trick or treaters I will have this year since it is my first Halloween here.  I guess I better ask some of the gals who have lived here longer than I have so I am prepared.  I don't want extra candy in the house if we never get anyone but don't want to have none in case we do.  Since this is a 55+ community, I don't know how many kids will be here.

This little guy is another quick & easy card to stamp & color.  I have another quick card for you tomorrow.

QKR Stampede Challenge - Halloween

Hello, friends!

Well, it's finally that time of year I love!  Halloween is almost here and the theme for today's QKR Stampede challenge is, of course, Halloween! What a perfect chance to work on your last minute Halloween cards while joining in the challenge & possibly winning some new digi stamps!

I chose digi # 9201- Brewing for my card.  I fell in love with this little witch who is obviously not up to all of her spells yet and has to refer to her recipe book! How cute is she!!

A spooky tree, some cobwebs and a faithful black cat & she is ready to brew her magic! I LOVE Halloween and QKR Stampede has some absolutely darling digi stamps!

See what you can come up with this week!

Change can be beautiful!

Happy Monday!

I hope you have a fantastic week & a fantastic day!  Today's card is a Stamping Bella stamp and one of my favorites for Thanksgiving.

Looks like she has collected all of the autumn vegetables she will need for her Thanksgiving dinner!
She even has the flower for her centerpiece.  I'd say she is ready!

Changing gears again tomorrow with a couple birthday cards.

Thanksgiving Blessings!

Happy Sunday!

It won't be long before we need to send out those Thanksgiving cards & this stamp from Plum Purdy is one I pull out again & again & again!  I have several of her stamps & they are always among the favorites I color up every single year!  She is actually a master tole painter but she does carry a few stamps on her website.  The snowmen are my other favorites!  I did a lot of purging when I moved, but none of the Plum Purdy stamps were given away.  They ALL came with me!

I love the simplicity of this stamp!  She does a lot of things in "folk art style" and as someone who began as a tole painter, I was addicted to her patterns!

I'll see you again tomorrow with another Thanksgiving card.

Sherri

A Bunny Birthday!

Happy Saturday!

I hope you all had a wonderful week & are ready to relax & enjoy the weekend! I have a cute birthday card to share today.  I love this image from "All Dressed Up" because he is just so darned sweet! I made him into a birthday card, but he could easily be just about anything else.

It looks like he is enjoying the butterflies too much to try catching one in his net!

I'll see you tomorrow with a Thanksgiving card.

Two more get well cards to come & then we switch gears again.

QKR Stampede Challenge - Pumpkins

Hello, everyone!

Well, since it is Friday, we are starting our weekly QKR Stampede challenge today and the theme will make everyone happy!  The theme is "Pumpkins" and what a perfect time of the year for those!
These cooler days have all of us thinking about Halloween and Thanksgiving & if you are like me, you have already brought out your fall decorations!  I LOVE decorating my entryway for each season or holiday.  There is a bench just outside my front door where I sit whatever seasonal decorations will compliment the wreath hanging on my door.  Luckily, all of this is enclosed so the weather is not a problem & I can decorate to my heart's content!

I used digi # 9206 - Autumn Friends for my card along with a new favorite frame.  This could easily be a Thanksgiving card or even a fall birthday card.

Grab your favorite pumpkin stamps & come join in the fun!  A chance to win some free digi stamps and have a lot of fun await!

Enjoy your weekend!

We all need birthday cards and sometimes they need to be for a child so this cute hippo is the perfect choice!  I love the smile on his face! I just know he is thinking about eating that cake in one big bite! Hope he blows the candles out first! ha ha

How fun is this! He is probably more suited to a boy, but some girls might like him as well.

With Deepest Sympathy

Hello again!

As I mentioned yesterday, I have a couple more sympathy cards to share.  The card today was created with Creative Expressions Spring Posey die.  It too, cuts AND embosses! I love dies that do that! It just adds that extra dimension to the die that makes it even prettier.

One more sympathy card tomorrow  & then we change gears!

Enjoy your week!

Butterfly sympathy

Hello, again!

As promised yesterday, I'm back with another sympathy card made with a new corner die.
This is a Joy Crafts Butterfly Corner die.  I love butterflies and they always make a gorgeous card. Apparently, one of the perks of living in Lincoln, Nebraska is that we are on the migration route for butterflies flying south for the winter.  Last week I must have counted 25 butterflies flying around my mum plant in the front yard.  And when I walked up to the trash bins they were everywhere! How beautiful a sight! They amaze me with their glorious colors! And I am so thankful that God created so much beauty for us to enjoy!

I'll see you tomorrow with another sympathy card.

Hugs,
Sherri

hugs!

Hi, gals!
I don't know about you, but I thought I would be SO happy to see cooler weather again...until it actually arrived!  I hate having to put my sandals away & wear regular shoes & grabbing a coat to go outside is such a bother after being used to just picking up your purse & heading out the door!

Today I have a sympathy card to share using Creative Expressions Floral Teacup die. It's a beautiful die & also embosses so it makes a quick & simple card with very little effort.

I needed a lot of sympathy cards for the two craft shows I have coming up.  And especially for the one at our Homeowner's Association craft show.  Since our area is for 55+ I'm sure people our age will have more use for sympathy cards than baby or wedding cards.  I have a couple more to share later.

Enjoy your week ahead!
Hugs,
Sherri
