Relax! It's your birthday!

Hi, friends!

Well, it's back to work after a nice long weekend.  I hope whatever you did, you had a great time & got to relax before hitting the job again.  I've spent the weekend working on cards.....which for me is the best way to relax!  I took advantage of the half off sale at Sassy Cheryl's digi's and added some more of my favorite images.  This little guy was one of them!

Doesn't she look relaxed?  I think she is definitely enjoying her birthday!

I have a new computer now so I am still in a learning curve as far as adjusting the color on my photo, since everything is just a bit different from the old dinosaur I had.  My grandson came to my rescue and built me the most fantastic computer ever!  My old one was on it's last legs and taking nearly 4 minutes just to open.  This one takes 10 seconds!  Awesome!!  It's wonderful to have a genius in the family!  I can say that because he doesn't check my blog so he won't be embarrassed. ha ha

Check back tomorrow for another fun card!

QKR Stampede Challenge # 193 - Birthday Cards

Hello!!

Are you ready for another QKR Stampede Challenge?  The theme this week is birthday cards so that should be a favorite with everyone!  We all love those handmade cards we get at birthdays & this is your chance to win even more digi stamps to use on your next cards!  For my entry, I chose Digi # 5002(423) Boy Balloon Holder.  I grabbed one of my balloon dies & quick as that, the card was done!

I had originally colored his shirt, but tried to add stripes to it & REALLY screwed it up....hence, the paper piecing!  ha ha  I think we have all done this at one time or another, haven't we?  I'm so glad there are so many ways to "save" a card when you mess it up!

Enjoy your weekend!  Enjoy these warm days!  These are the days we prayed for when the snow was blowing & the wind was howling!  ha ha

Catch you later!

It's another Sassy Cheryl image and one of my favorites!

I have so much fun with her images!  They all just make me smile!  Hope they gave you a smile too!

Back tomorrow with the weekly QKR Stampede challenge!  See you then!

Classic Guy!

Happy Hump Day!

I saw this set of stamps on the Lili of the Valley website & thought they were perfect for all those dreaded guy cards we hate so much!  All guys love cars, right?

This set had 3 images & 3 sentiments with it.  What do you think?  A good buy?

Back tomorrow with my favorite card!

Oops!

Hello!

Are you ready for a chuckle?  I not only adore critters, but LOVE funny cards!  When I came across this bear in the Rubbernecker site, I just had to order him.  Doesn't his face just shout "DUH!" when you look at him?  I knew I could find a lot of things I could have him say.

See you tomorrow with a guy card!  Enjoy your day!

Feeling Down?

Hi, everyone!

I thought a "feeling down" theme would be good for a Monday!  I'm sure that is how most of you are feeling since it means the start of another work week!   I have a brother-in-law who is scheduled for some surgery in a couple weeks so I thought a get well card was in order!  I took this adorable Sassy Cheryl image & made him into a get well card.

I love all her images, but the critters are probably my favorite!  LOVE my critters!  ha ha

Back tomorrow with an "Oops, forgot your birthday!" card.  See you then!

QKR Stampede Challenge # 192 - Sketch

Hi, Gals!

Another Friday has rolled around which means it's time for another QKR Stampede challenge.  The theme this week is a sketch!  We haven't done a challenge based on a sketch for a long time, if ever. But, boy, was it a lot of fun! Go to the QKR Stampede Blog to see the actual sketch and play along.  I chose digi # 18708 Sea Horse for my card.

I thought this would be a great guy card !  I can't wait to see what YOU come up with!

Have an awesome weekend!

Birthday Flowers

Happy Monday!

Are you all fired up for another fun week or having a hard time getting out of bed & out the door?  When I was working, I used to think it was harder to have to go to work in the winter when you just wanted to stay home where it was warm.  But sometimes it is just as hard to go to work when the weather is gorgeous & you want to be outside in it instead of inside looking out at it!

I got another die that just spoke to me....I'm going to have to start wearing ear muffs so I can't hear them! ha ha  I loved the stitching around this flower and knew it would be a fun die & it was! This is Poppy Stamps Daphne Bloom.  I cut it out in green and white & then cut several more in white of just the flower head.

I guess I have to count myself in those who are having a hard time getting going this morning!  It just dawned on me when I saw how bright the pops of color are that I posted this BEFORE I adjusted the color! In real life the brilliant "neon" spots are a very muted pinkish mauve.  Duh!  Maybe I need a few more hours of sleep too!  ha ha

Have a fantastic week!

Hi, everyone!

Time for another Dies R Us Challenge and a chance for you to win a gift voucher to the amazing store! It should be easy for you as the theme this time is "Birthday Cards" and we all need lots of those, don't we!
For my card I chose to use the following dies: Die-namics Vertical Stitches (currently unavailable), Dies R Us Chirping Birds, Poppy Stamps Sylvan Sprig & Memory Box Stitched Clouds.  Here is what I came up with...a bit simpler than my usual cards, but I love it!

Get your thinking caps on & decide what YOU are going to submit for the challenge!  Good luck!!

Two new dies...

Hi, gals!

You know how much I love dies!  Dies R Us is now carrying a new line of dies called Tutti.  They don't have a lot of dies, but each of them is gorgeous.  I ordered 3 of them and this card was made with two of them.

I used the Tutti Butterfly Strip & the Tutti Butterfly Corner for this card.  I needed a sympathy card, but you could easily make this into a birthday card..thank you...thinking of you.....

I liked the 3 dies I purchased so much, I am sure I will be adding to my collection soon!

Enjoy your weekend!

The Tree of Life

Hello, everyone!

Nobody likes to make sympathy cards....or attend funerals.  Your heart goes out to the family in their grief & sending a handmade card helps you express your sorrow.  When I saw this new die from Tutti called Tree of Life, I knew it was going to make some beautiful sympathy cards.  By adding other dies, you can change the whole look of the die or use it by itself & keep the card extremely simple.  I did both.

This is a new company and I was very impressed with the quality of their dies! They cut out beautifully and every one of them is beautiful.

Back Saturday with another card I made using 2 more of their gorgeous dies!  Don't forget to check Friday for the latest QKR Stampede weekly challenge!

Bitty Bouquets

Happy Hump Day!

Are you ready for a whole trio of cards today?  I was doing some "browsing" the other day on a site I used to frequent a lot but hadn't been to for quite some time.  Papertrey Ink!  I fell in love with a set of flower stamps that also had a matching die to cut them out.  The set is "Bitty Bouquets" and there are 4 different sets of flowers and 4 sentiments included.  Here are 3 of the cards I made.

It's been a long time since I played with stamps that had matching dies & it was fun!  And quick! No more fussy cutting your images to use them on your card.

Enjoy the rest of the week!

Doggie Birthday Wishes!

Hi, all!

Hope your week is going fantastically and the sun is shining wherever you are!  Today I have a really fun card with a spring-like feel that is sure to make you smile!  This is a Bugaboo image I got on their fabulous half off sale last week.  How could I pass up these cute critters?  I paired them with some of my favorite gingham paper and added a Magnolia Flower Swirl Corner die to two corners.

I'll be back tomorrow with a trio of fun cards made with some new stamps.

Hugs,
Sherri

QKR Stampede Challenge # 190 Feminine Card - Mother's Day

Hello, again!

Can you believe Mother's Day is this Sunday?  I hope you have your card done & have picked out something special for your Mom!  Be thankful if your Mom is still with you and if she is not, take today to remember all the wonderful memories you have & treasure each & every one of them!

The theme for this week's challenge is to make a Feminine card for Mother's Day.  If you use a QKR Stampede digi for you card, you could be the winner of 3 free digi stamps from their store.  If you use another stamp, you can still win 2 free digi's as the winner.  It is a win, win situation!  For my card today, I grabbed Digi # 23301 Roses.

I grabbed a Tonic Studios Twined Lily Square die set to cut it out, and of course I had to use a Wink of Stella over the entire image although it doesn't show up here.

We usually think of QKR Stampede as just being fun & silly critters, but they have lots of gorgeous floral stamps as well.

It's your turn!  Head on over to the challenge blog & post an entry of your own!  You could win yourself a Mother's Day present!

See you next Friday with a graduation challenge!

Bella Bouquet Birthday

Hi, friends!

Back again with a really simple & quick birthday card using the Sizzix Butterfly Lattice embossing folder from yesterday and the Memory Box Bella Bouquet die.  I love white flowers against a patterned background and if that background is polka dots or gingham then I am especially happy! My biggest wish would be that someone would make a 12 X 12 paper pack with nothing but gingham paper in every color of the rainbow!  I don't want stripes, flowers or anything else mixed in, just gingham paper on every page.  I'd buy a case of it!  Enough of that!  On with the card...

Back again tomorrow with the QKR Stampede challenge for the week!  The challenge this week will be Mother's Day (Feminine cards).

Until tomorrow,
Sherri

Simon Says...

Happy Hump Day!

I hope the sun is shining wherever you are & your week has already been fantastic!  I'm still on a roll making cards, obviously!  ha ha  I've had so many new dies to play with I haven't been coloring a lot, but that stops today.  I have a bunch of digi stamps that need coloring & made up into cards so by Saturday, I should be sharing those.  In the meantime, here are a couple of cards I had fun making with Simon Says Stamp Single Roses dies.  The first card I also used a Sizzix Butterfly Lattice Set embossing folder and popped it up with pop dots for a more dimensional look.

For this card, I decided to skip the layering & make a flatter card which should mail better.

I have no idea why these simplistic roses appeal to me so much, but I love them!  They are just kind of a fresh take on the usual fussy flowers I normally like.  By the way, the banners on both were made from my old Spellbinder Ribbon Labels dies.  I've had them for years & years (they were one of my first purchases when I began buying dies) and they are my go to dies for sentiments!

Back tomorrow with a fast birthday card.

A Hillside Greeting!

Hi, everybody!

As promised, I am back with a really different birthday card.  I fell in love with this Poppy Stamps Brevilla Hillside die the second I saw it.  (Yup, I say that a lot don't I?) ha ha  I don't know about you, but sometimes you just get tired of the same old birthday cards all the time.  This one is definitely different!

And of course, you can't have a hillside scene without some Memory Box Stitched Clouds floating around in the sky!

Off to see what else I can come up with!

Another birthday card!

Happy Monday!

Hope your week is off to a wonderful start! I have been enjoying myself with a bunch of new dies as you may have guessed!  Sometimes you just get too good a bargain to pass it by.  This is a card I made with one of them using Poppy Stamps Stitched Swirl Stem.  It was a really easy card!  I added some flowers, some pearl centers and a butterfly from my stash of cut dies.  This one was from a Cheery Lynn Exotic Butterfly set.

I love this die because it has that beautiful stitching which outlines the entire die. I LOVE anything with stitching!

Back tomorrow with an unusual card I really like.

Almost a May Day Card...ALMOST!

Happy May Day!

I hope you got (or gave) a May Day basket!  I should have made a May Day card, but didn't think of it in time.  So I am sharing a card that reminds me of one.  It isn't a basket, but I don't know why you couldn't use a watering can as a basket! So if we are pretending the watering can is a basket, we can pretend a birthday card is a May Day card, right?  ha ha  Boy, am I stretching it!

I used the following dies on this one: Memory Box Garden Watering Can, Memory Box Floral Delights,
& Tonic Studios Twined Lily Square.

Back tomorrow with another birthday card!
