What a Difference A Flower Makes!

Happy Wednesday, gals!

Hope your week has already been fantastic & you are ready to try something new!  Dies R Us has so many lines of dies in stock that it is getting hard to keep up with them all!  Something all of us addicted to dies REALLY love!  You can never have too much chocolate or too many dies! (or purses!) That is my personal motto!  lol

One of the newest die companies Dies R Us carries is the Sue Wilson line & I am totally in love with every single one of them!  Normally, I scroll through a list of dies that a company carries & want lots of them, but never ALL of them!  This line is just so beautiful, I want them all.  Since I can't win the lottery, I have to settle for one or two at a time.  These cards were both made using the first two dies I got.  Cordoba and Faux Quilled Leaves.  I'm guessing you will see these leaves on a lot of my cards as I am just crazy about them!  I used a Magnolia Doily Flower with the leaves.

I also made another card without the flower so you can see the beautiful detail of the dies.

Stop at the Dies R Us store & check them out!  Don't forget to check out the challenge & inspiration blogs while you are there!

Just an FYI....

Hi,

I haven't had a lot of time the past week or more to post.  Although my weekly posts on Wed. & Friday still posted, they were scheduled ahead of time.  For those of you who may not know, Dad fell in his basement last Thursday morning & broke his right hip.  After almost a week in the hospital, they released him to a nursing home to do therapy so that hopefully, he can still come home again.  It will depend on how well he does. Being stubborn & wanting to get out of there is working both FOR and AGAINST him!  He is trying harder to do things, but is also trying to do things he shouldn't be doing yet to prove he is "ready" to come home.  We could really use your continued prayers!

My sister is here & that has been a tremendous help!  We are using this time he is gone to do a thorough spring cleaning at his house so everything will be wonderful once he returns.

I don't have any cards to share today, but I will share a couple of pictures I took of Brady before all this happened.  I was trying to clean out the small storage unit my tv sets on upstairs in my craft room.  I pulled everything out of the top shelf, turned around to find Brady happily laying on the shelf & purring his head off.  I had to use treats to coax him out when I got ready to replace items on it.  The same thing happened with the bottom shelf.  I had my camera handy so I grabbed a couple of shots.  Hopefully, one of these days I can get back to my cleaning!

I bet nobody has a cuter "helper" than I do!  Good thing this is a big cupboard!

Yum!

Happy Hump Day!

You've made it halfway through the week and I bet you are ready for another dose of inspiration!  My card today at the Dies R Us Inspiration Blog is a cutie from Saturated Canary.  I love this little gal!

I framed her with a  Spellbinder A2 Polka Dots die and used a Spellbinders Scalloped Borders Two for the border.  The Happy Birthday is from Memory Box Happy Birthday Garland.

Well, Blogger is acting up tonight so we will see if this actually posts as scheduled!  ha ha  I think I will close this post before it completely wipes it off & I have start over!

Have a great week!

Your're not old....

Hi, all!

I hadn't planned to post today as I was going to clean my crafting area......Well, let me tell you how THAT went!  The first thing on my desk that needed to be moved was a stack of images I had printed & stamped off that were either waiting to be colored or already had been.  Right on the top was one of the new stamps I got on vacation, all colored up & ready to make into a card.  Looking at it, I immediately thought of a new die I had & from there it all went downhill quickly!  ha ha  My desk is still a disaster area, but I have a completed card.

The stamp is from Penny Black and the tree is from Dee's Distinctively.   The inside message is "Don't worry about getting old.  Old will always be 10 years older than we are!"

Am I the only one who makes a mess when she crafts?  Right now I have 22 dies on my desk, a pile of new stamps waiting to use and assorted other items.  Maybe I need to win the lottery so I can hire someone full time just to stand by my desk and put things away for me! ha ha

Back tomorrow with a QKR post!  Enjoy the rest of your day!

Christmas in July

Happy Wednesday!

Yes, I know this is July, but we are having a challenge at Dies R Us right now with a "Christmas In July" theme!  It's a bit hard to think Christmas cards when the temperatures are this warm, but I gave it my best shot!  lol  This is what I came up with!

For a complete list of all the dies I used on this card, please go to the Dies R Us Inspiration Blog (link on my sidebar)  as I list them all there.
This is a closeup of the detail.  It didn't photograph as well as I had hoped, and you can't see the gold glitter that I sprayed on either.  In person, it is much prettier as you can see the faint glitter.

Have a great day!

Retirement

Happy Tuesday!

It's absolutely beautiful weather here today.   I have to add this comment to my post for my grandson!  He calls my blog "Grandma's weather blog" because I'm always mentioning the weather!  As I explained to my daughter, I doubt anyone wants to hear that I've spent the morning cleaning or mowing or running errands, and neither would anyone care about my latest health update or political views. Weather is something we can all relate to,  hence, the mention of it!  ha ha

On to today's cards.  I've been working on several projects the past few days, but wanted to get some retirement cards done for my daughter.  She has to send them out to clients & I thought a stash of some generic ones would be good to keep on hand.  I haven't started the female versions yet, but this is what I have so far for the guys.

I found the cutest Penny Black stamp set on our mini vacation & this was one of the stamps.

This golfer is an old, old stamp I've had since I first began stamping & use all the time.

These are the last of the bunch.

Be sure to check back tomorrow for a Christmas in July post!  I'm working on some other cards I did with some darling stamps I got on vacation.  I'll fill you in on our trip when I post them.

Catch you later!

QKR Challenge # 95 - Bug Image

Happy July Fourth!

It finally rolled around didn't it!  And while you are celebrating the start of another weekend, you should think about joining this week's challenge at QKR Stampede.  Challenge #95 is to use a bug image.  Well, since July 4th seems to be the perfect time for a picnic, I thought I would choose this adorable ant image. I think we have all been on picnics where it looked like the ants actually WERE carrying our food away!

I found some perfect paper in one of my Recollections paper packs.  Some Spellbinder dies, a little ric rac and I was done.

Run on over to QKR Stampede's blog & join in the challenge for your chance to win some great digi's!

And have a GREAT July 4th celebration!!!!

Lavender Fields

Happy Hump Day!

It's a good thing I looked at my blog today or I would never have noticed that I didn't have a posting!  Normally, I set up my posts ahead of time & schedule them to automatically post the same days as my team posts.  Apparently, in my haste to get ready for the mini vacation I just got back from, I forgot today's post on my own blog!  Time to fix that right now!

Today's card is done with another of the beautiful stamps from Power Poppy that I have fallen in love with.

After coloring the bucket, I colored the lavender stems that are also included with this set & fussy cut them to add to the card bottom.  The dies I used were both Spellbinders:  Lotus Border and Adorning Squares. I matted it with my favorite gingham paper to keep that country look I love.

This is also posted today at Dies R Us on the challenge blog.  They carry all the dies used in this card & hundreds more.  I think we carry over 30 die companies now & they are still adding on!

Got to run!  Catch you later with details of my fun vacation!
