What just happened!

Hi, all!

I hope you are having a great weekend.  As for me, I'm not quite sure what kind of weekend I am having.  A weird one, that's for sure!  After spending a nice relaxing day, I stopped and picked up some groceries.  Nothing exciting, right?  I put the groceries away & gathered up my garbage to take outside while it was still daylight.  Still not exciting....I had just dropped my garbage bag into the trash bin & bent to pick up a piece of plastic wrap that had blown into my yard from the neighbors when I saw something large, black & feathered coming directly at my head. Before I had time to even react, it hit me squarely in the forehead!  After standing up, I began to look around for the bird, assuming it was either dead or at least stunned, but I didn't see it.  I can't believe it could still fly after hitting me that hard!  The only other explanation is that it fell into the open trash bin.  You can be sure I will look tomorrow!  Who gets hit in the head by a bird!!  Aren't they supposed to have great eye sight?

Enough of my crazy day.  On to the card I am sharing tonite.  The Easter Bunny (aka my daughter & son-in-law) treated me to a gift certificate as part of my Easter basket & of course, I had to order dies! They came yesterday & I made a card with one this afternoon.

The image is one from some old Hugware I've had for years. I colored it with Prismacolor brush markers & then added some squiggly lines to the watering can to make it resemble the old cans made of enamel ware.  The pretty corner lace pieces are from Joy Crafts.  The paper is from my stash.

I hope the rest of your weekend is enjoyable & that mine is back to "normal" again!  Catch you later!

  1. Sherri, this is really pretty, the watering can looks so much like the old enamel ware. Your new die is beautiful. Your daughter is so thoughtful. Karal

  2. Wow, what a weird experience! We have quail fly into our windows constantly. Thankfully, not into us. I was out sitting on the swing one evening and a bat missed my head by about two inches. That was quite scary. Love the card. Your coloring is just gorgeous.

  3. I always mean to print up some of my Hugware to color (as if I don't have enough images to color). I have a large collection of it. Isn't it a shame they went out of business? Beautiful card with the image you chose. The squiggly lines add a lot of texture. I thought at first you had paper pieced the can. Very cool! Those new dies are gorgeous! Love the blue and white color combo. Always so fresh and pretty. Your daughter sure takes good care of you! Odd about the bird! Maybe it was a crow fighting you for the garbage.
