Plain Jane

Hi, everyone!

Tonite I am posting a real "plain Jane" card.  It is probably the plainest card I've done in ages.  It was more of an experiment than anything. I picked up this cute typewriter stamp set from Hot off the Press for $1.29 and hadn't done anything with it yet.  Then, as luck would have it, I happened to be strolling down the aisle at Hobby Lobby one day & noticed an embossing folder of typed words.  Just had to get it!  I embossed it using black cardstock with a blue core & sanded off the lettering to make it show up.

I thought this might be suitable to use as a "guy" thank you card.  One of these days I'll do a gal version!

I hope you are all enjoying this Father's Day weekend.  My sister is here this weekend & we are having a big dinner tomorrow.  It will be fun to pamper Dad for the day.  I wish she didn't live so far away!

I'll catch you all later!

  5. This is about as perfect as it gets when it comes to a simple card that combines everything beautifully! What a find on that embossing folder. Great idea to sand the paper to bring out the letters. Cute sentiment with it, too. I really like it!
