Out of my comfort zone..

Happy Monday!

Today I have a card that is a bit out of my comfort zone.  I don't usually do monochromatic cards. I prefer lots of color.  But A Day for Daisies is having a challenge #78 to use a monochrome color scheme & I thought I would give it a try. Live dangerously, right?  So I made a birthday card for my son-in-law using this beautiful baby giraffe.  I colored him with Prismacolor pencils & gamsol & the bow is from Memory Box & the sentiment is framed with a Spellbinder die.

What is there about giraffes that makes them so beautiful?  The long eyelashes, the sweet face or just the total beauty?  Whatever it is, they have certainly captured it in this image.

Have a great Tuesday!

  2. I agree with Pam. And you've done the image justice with that beautiful monochromatic coloring - and created a great masculine BD card for Jon. I like the idea of a die cut bow rather than a ribbon bow - good idea : ) It all looks wonderful on that bg paper, Sherri. Great card!

  8. I saw this image before and I think it's just about my favorite of all A Day for Daisies images. You did super coloring with your pencils and Gamsol. You card has so much character I wouldn't have even thought about it being monochromatic. It's a great card for your son-in-law!
