The Cat in the Hat!

Hello, again!

I've missed a couple of days, haven't I?  I was still busy creating cards, but they were for QKR's design team so they won't post for a few days yet.  I have some more cute images for the September challenges that I can't wait to start on so I may miss a day or two later.  I guess I am pretty anal about wanting to be "ahead" of schedule.  I'm also the person who always shows up early for an appointment.  ha ha  Can't help it, it's just the way I am!

I pulled one of my favorite Halloween stamps from my Halloween stash.  This stamp is from Plum Purdy.  She doesn't do many stamps, and in fact, I don't think I saw them even listed on her website when I was there last week.  She mainly does patterns for tole painters, which is how I first fell in love with her work.  For many years, I was addicted to tole painting....and then to oil painting (landscapes).  I would still like to go back to it some day, but am having so much fun with my cards. I have a couple of her stamps for Halloween and a couple for Christmas that I will never part with.  I never get tired of them & pull them out year after year.  Am I the only one who does that?  It's like that favorite blouse in your closet that has seen it's better days but you still wear it because it's your favorite & you can't bear the thought of throwing it away or giving it to the Goodwill.

I colored up 3 of this image just because I love it so & it colors up quickly.  Isn't it funny what a totally different look you get by changing colors and dies!

I used a new die on this first one.  it was Memory Box Happy Halloween Border, along with Memory Box Corner Cobwebs (my favorite Halloween die).

I seemed to be on a Memory Box roll....this cute die is Memory Box Happy Halloween Channel. It cuts out a cute little pumpkin for the "O" in Halloween!
And finally, an old, old die & one of the first I bought years ago.  Memory Box Creepy Web Frame.

Everyone got a coat of Wink of Stella, of course!  You have to have some glitter & shine!

Now I need to go search for the other fall stamp from Plum Purdy!  It's perfect for Thanksgiving!

Have a fantastic week!

Sherri

  1. What a cute, cute stamp! I have lots of oldie favorites, too. Your coloring is fantastic and I especially love how you added green to the pumpkins. I really look forward to your fun cards and I miss them when you don't post for a couple of days. No pressure or anything... That Happy Halloween with the pumpkin sure is cute. You've got me wanting to start on Halloween cards with my dies I've been waiting to use. Maybe I should do some fall cards first...

  4. Your talents are boundless and I'm glad you landed with an addition to cards. These are so cute. I too love Plum Purdy and you've worked this stamp wonderfully with those dies. He kinda reminds me of someone :)
