Walk on the wild side!

Hi, everyone!

It's been awhile since I worked on a birthday card.  Those darned Valentines are just so tempting to make! I don't know about you, but I think I have more fun making holiday themed cards than any other kind. Maybe it's because it takes you back to your childhood when you waited to see how many valentines you had in the decorated cigar box you made at school. (Am I the only one old enough to remember decorating boxes for your cards?)

Well, enough rambling!  On to the birthday card! I wanted something that feels like spring so I pulled out one of my favorite Penny Black stamps.

I used a Spellbinder Resplendent Rectangle to mat this and the paper is from Simple Stories (Summer Fresh 6x6 pad).  I went with a twine bow to make it easier to mail.

I'm entering this in the following challenges:
Through the Craft Room Door - Anything Goes
Created With Love-Challenge #74 Anything Goes
Simon Says Stamp - Use Twine or String

Have a great Friday tomorrow!  The weekend is almost here!

  1. No you are not the only one who remembers *laughing* And, yes, I could make holiday cards til the cows come home (especially using Penny Black images!)

Springtime warmth floods your card design! It will be nice to get back into the garden again won't it? You did a wonderful job coloring your little hedgehog. And I absolutely adore Penny Black images! Wonderful card, Sherri.

  2. Sherri, I love this cute hedgehog, and I remember making valentine boxes. Now they just staple a couple paper plates together and put on a sticker and that's supposed to be a valentine box.

  3. Oh, I remember the boxes! That was one of my favorite days all year! I feel like I'd like to recapture that fun by sending cute little Valentines to all my friends, but, gee, I just got done sending out all those Christmas cards! But, you know, I absolutely love cute critters and flowers and yellow and polka dots... so I absolutely LOVE this card!

I love these critters and I like how you slipped your dp thru the die! Very clever! Your choice of colors just pop and make for a very cheery card! Hugs
