Monday Mixture

Happy Monday!

I'm sure you are wondering where the weekend disappeared to, aren't you?  Me too!  One minute it was Saturday & Sunday just evaporated in the blink of an eye. For those of you still working, at least you know the week will go quickly too!

I am still playing with some flower dies.  Some I have had for a long time & some are relatively new.  I am having so much fun making these darned flowers that I find myself trying to think up ways to put them on all my cards.  lol  They really don't take long at all to create & the finished look is really spectacular on some of them.  Yesterday I played around with Impression Obsession Spiral Medium Daisy and just fell in love with it! Daisies have always been my very favorite flower of all time! I'd pass up a dozen roses for a vase of daisies any day!!  I cut another basket from my Memory Box Bountiful Basket die & filled it with flowers using the daisy die & the Impression Obsession Small Spiral Flowers die, along with the Impression Obsession Leaf Cluster die. I used the Spellbinders Majestic Labels 25 die & Ribbon Banner die to finish.

As you can see from the side shot, the flowers actually don't stick up that far & will easily compress down even further when you mail them.  I love that feature!  Some of the flowers you buy are SO stiff I think you could run a car over them without mashing them & they are REALLY difficult to mail. Not to mention the fact that they are so expensive! It's nothing to spend $4-5 for a little card of 3 or 4 flowers!
I have to get this one in the mail today for my cousin's birthday.  I'm hoping she will like it and it will make her think of spring!

Back to the drawing board!  I have a couple of ideas I want to try & we will see what I come up with for next time.

Enjoy your week!

  1. Oh Sherri I LOVE this card and I'm sure your cousin will too! I need to get the daisy die:) you are so right about spending a lot of money on a few flowers!

  2. Sherri, this is SO BEAUTIFUL! I'm in LOVE with those flowers! They're as sweet and pretty as can be, and the gorgeous dies on pink with the birthday banner and pretty basket -- wow! I know I need some flower dies, especially after seeing this. I completely agree about the expense of prepared flowers, though I have a bunch I need to use up, and many cards made with them need a big box to present them in. They are lovely, though. Your cousin is going to flip over this! It's one of your finest!

  3. Beautiful, glorious Spring cards Sherri! I make my own envelopes and never pay more than $2. I need to tell you about that! well, I have some videos on it… but I go to and put in the weight and get the price.
